This was average for a kayaking tour. There were a couple of challenging "canals" - small areas that you had to negotiate your kayak through between the mangroves that was fun. Also seeing the white faced monkeys that came down to the area where we were to eat "dinner". The guides were knowledgeable about the mangroves, the other trees, the birds, and other small creatures. It was very relaxing.

Herzlichen Dank an Tucanes Tour - Great Job👍🏻

What a wonderful experience! Danny from tucanes tours was a wonderful and friendly guide. You get to get up close and personal with birds, monkeys, and reptiles in the mangrove estuary. Was so fun paddling through tiny channels and ducking under roots and fronds. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our kayak tour through the mangroves with Alejandro, Danny, and Flaco! Very peaceful morning with a few sightings of capuchin monkeys, tiger mask crabs, and of course, the four types of mangroves. The tour was about two hours, and wasn’t too strenuous (very smooth water.) Finished off with a great breakfast and coffee! Definitely recommend if you enjoy kayaking, a very easy and peaceful activity with knowledgeable guides!

The local company never communicated a time change to us. We were ready at 6:00am after receiving numerous confirmations for a 6:00am pick up. We had to call the company to find out what happened and they told us at that time that the tour was at 1:00pm. The staff didn’t seem very organized—we had to pick up extra kayaks, there was no instruction on how to manage the boat and very little information was given along the way as to the itinerary of the tour. The guide also has a pretty big group so it was hard to hear what little wildlife he saw, and it seemed like the tour was cut a little short due to the inexperience of the group. We were disappointed after having a great experience on a different kayak trip in another area of Costa Rica.

Great experience! Our guide Warner was cheerful, knowledgeable, and fun. We saw capuchin, a baby croc, basilisk lizards, a mangrove snake, ibis, and tons of crabs. It was a beautiful, relaxing, and active time.

Fantastic morning kayaking with the two Allen! Both guides were knowledgeable and very friendly and upbeat - great way to start the morning! They took us through a less travleled part of the mangroves which was dependent on the tides and it was an adventure! The meal afterward was excellent as well. Highly recommend this outfit and this excursion!

We had a great time on our guided tour along the mangroves. We learned a lot and had a blast while doing it. If it’s going to be sunny put extra sunscreen on. Our legs got a bit red but we were pretty white to begin with! 😂 The lunch afterwards was amazing just like all the other food we ate while in Costa Rica. Our guide Allan helped us make celebrating our anniversary so special!

Danny, our guide, and Enrique, our driver, took us for the Damas Island Kayak tour. As soon as we started driving, the tour basically already started by Enrique showing us plants and what they do. Then we went on to make a stop to see a sloth just along the road. After a delicious lunch, we drove to the kayaks, making more stops where Enrique showed us local plants and along the way Danny told us all about the country, palm plants and so much more. And we weren't even in the kayaks yet! The kayaking itself was great. Danny explained all about the trees, the tide, the animals and even though going upstream was quite challenging, it was all fun and we learned a lot from Danny. We had a wonderful tour, I would definitely recommend it!

We loved this tour, and Danny was a fabulous tour guide. The tour bus picked up exactly when promised and Danny gave us great information on the way about the local area. Our guide on the actual kayak tour was great and it was wonderful in the mangroves. We didn’t see loads of wildlife but the guides were super informative and provided loads of great information about the flora and fauna. We stopped for breakfast on the way home as we had an early start to hit the right tide times. Lovely breakfast at the immaculate Toucanes cafe. Toucanes Tours is a really professional operator.
