Situated at an altitude of 1600 meters, just 10 km. away from the main centre of Kathmandu City, Indra Daha/ Daha Chowk is the best destination for observing the magnificent views. It not only offers one of the best panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley, but also holds historical and cultural importance. However, it's still under shadows despite tourism potentials. The moderately easy hiking for 2 hrs passes through the lush green forest that has many species of birds as well as spotted deer and monkeys. The vantage point greets you with a spectacular view of Langtang, Ganesh, and Manaslu. In a clear day, you can see the panoramic view of Kathmandu valley, Nuwakot, Kirtipur.As being an important place for its religious, historical and recreational value Indra Daha receives number of visitors throughout the year. Another not-to-be-missed site here is the park constructed around the cemetery of King Prithvi Narayan Shahs chief commander, Kalu Pandey.
