  • I really do think you would be better off arranging this visit yourself. Just grab a taxi and visit the border and stay with the locals, its a much better view. What didn't help was the guide provided by Viator. She picked us up from the hotel, dropped us at the border, where we had to join everyone else to get to viewing stands. She then met us one the way out and the driver drove us to the pre booked dinner. The guide then just left us, the restaurant had know idea who we were until I made it known. The meal however was very nice. I have done a lot of very good Viator tours. This was definitely not one of them!

  • Great trip and definitely recommend. Our guide suggested a slightly earlier pick up which meant we had perfect seating close to the gate. Onkar was excellent speaking very good English to give us a guided tour as we passed other places of interest en route. The evening dinner was a perfect end to the trip.

  • Great trip overall
Quality of the taxi provided out to the Border Crossing ceremony not good but got us there and back safely
Actual ceremony is crazy and spectacular, must have been 20,000 people there.
The meal provided at the Golden Tulip was excellent, quality could not be faulted.
Only slight negative experience was having to wait about 1.5hrs after returning from the ceremony to having dinner, perhaps future guests need to be told about this possibility, its perhaps because we got away from the Border too quickly ?

  • Not sure why we needed a guide as she only came for the taxi ride. We had to pass through security and find our own way to the ceremony. Concrete steps don't make for an ideal view but when the guards were close it was excellent. Impossible to see what was happening at the gate, we would have had a better view on the Indian side rather than the foreigners section. Still wouldn't have missed it..a real spectacle. Taxi driver was very obliging and took us back to our hotel before picking us up later for our meal. The resteraunt was excellent as was the food. Booked the tour thinking we would get 'good seats' with a clear view of the gates. After all this was the main purpose of the ceremony. Instead I could have hired a taxi myself and still sat in the same limited position. Not sure it was value for money.
