The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious site sin Buddhist Vietnam. Discover the scenic waterways, pagodas, temples and steep mountain paths on this small-group day trip. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the limestone mountain area along the stream. This small group tour averages around 10 to 25 people with transport by a modern bus with air conditioning. You will have the chance to enjoy a sampan boat trip as well. Hiking to the top of the mountain takes around 1 to 1.5 hours and is not wheelchair accessible.

Your tour will start with hotel pick up in the Hanoi Old Quarter area to start the 2-hour journey to the Perfume Pagoda where you can enjoy the scenic drive through the rich farming land of the Red River Delta to one of Northern Vietnam's most holy sites. Upon arriving at Duc Port you board a rowing boat for a relaxing cruise down the Yen River with a stop along the way at Den Trinh (Pagoda of Representation).

Get off the boat start your hike to the top of Huong Tich Mountain where the Perfume Pagoda is located. Once you arrive there will be time to relax and explore the pagoda. The Perfume Pagoda is not just one pagoda buy many shrines and temples build into a limestone hillside. The first of these is at the foot of Huong Tich Mountain, which means 'Mountain of Fragrant Traces.' From here, disembark and follow the stone flanked path walk up to Houng Tich Cave and Pagoda (Pagoda of the Perfumed Vestige). This pagoda is one of the most important to Mahayana Buddhists of Vietnam (There is an option to take a cable car but ticket is extra and to be paid on arrival).

For lunch, you will head to a local restaurant and after continue to visit Thien Tru (Pagoda Leading to Heaven). This was built in the seventeenth century and dedicated to the goddess Quan Am symbolically marking the start of the journey to heaven.

Returning by boat to the vehicle you will be transferred back to Hanoi arriving in the late afternoon.
