Know More about this tour
The tours first stop, St. Dimitrie Basarabov Monastery, is the only Bulgarian example of such a structure carved into a cliff that is still inhabited today, and its atmosphere will fill you with wonder. You will have a little time to explore this beautiful religious monument before we continue to the remarkable medieval settlement of Veliko Tarnovo, which was once the medieval capital of Bulgaria. Prepare to be transported back in time; this gorgeous city has panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valley, as well as ample history for you to explore and absorb, and architecture that will take your breath away. Veliko Tarnovo is home to the magnificent Tsaravets Fortress, the strongest Bulgarian fortification from the Middle Ages. Once home to royalty this ancient stronghold is now a striking tourist attraction standing proudly atop Tsaravets Hill.
Once you have explored Veliko Tarnovo and enjoyed lunch, the tour will continue to its final stop; Arbanasi Village. Nestled on a high plateau between the settlements of Veliko Tarnovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa, Arbanasi Village provides spectacular views and incredible examples of medieval architecture dating back several centuries. This tour is truly one for the enthusiastic history buff, and anybody that appreciates beautiful buildings, stunning scenery, and the opportunity to discover a little more about Bulgaria.

Friendly, informative, and helpful tour guide. Beautiful scenery and an overall wonderful experience. A lot of driving time for basically two stops, but I’m my opinion worth it. Be aware that there a lot of steps to climb at both the monastery and at Veliko Tărnovo but the views are outstanding.
Tour guide recommended that this tour should not be done in winter....so we had low expectations.
However we had an awesome day. With great sunny weather. We stopped to change money at the border so dont worry about get Lev before you go.
The rock monestary was a good site, bit death defying stairs but really good.
The fortress was great, very steep hill or stairs. The church at the top is like nothing I've ever seen before amazing !
Great restaurant suggested by our tour guide, delicious food.
Time for shopping and souvenirs in a very nice city.
A long day for a couple of sites but a good glimpse of bulgaria in 1 day.
Tour guide was good, felt safe and comfortable in his mini van.
Would definitely recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was wonderful! I am sorry to say I don't remember her name. I would recommend tour guides wear name tags or give a name card...travellers are so tired we do forget names sometimes. The tour was delightful. The sites were absolutely beautiful. Restaurant recommendations were fabulous. Take some money to shop! The prices are wonderful!
The guide on our one day trip was exceptional. Nice, easy going and informative. A long day but the van was very comfortable and the guide had lunch with all of us in a restaurant that he picked. It was great and I appreciated not having to look for food on my own. i wish I remember his name because he was really exceptional. I saw things that I would not have if on my own.
The trip to Bulgaria was really a nice experience. The guide introduced us to a cheap but extremely tasty restaurant and cheap as well!
Sebastian our guide was absolutely fundamental in making this an enjoyable experience. While it was a long day, there were only 7 of us so made it alot more enjoyable and worth the extra money for the intimate tour. Sebastian was funny, flexible and full of knowledge about all things Bulgaria. And he also provided us with interesting historical information about Romania. He took the time to show us the fountain light show in Bucharest, when he didnt need to. HIGHLY recommend this tour!!! It has the perfect number of people, and hopefully you get Sebastian or similar guide to make it an enjoyable experience. If you have to chose, do this tour over the castle tours!
One day in different country with good attractions and information is nice experience. Good English speaking guide
We had a nice small group of 6 people total. Our guide, Helen(?) told a lot of information of all the places we saw during the trip. She could answer to all our questions. We had enough stops and also enough time for shopping and to eat. Very enjoyable day trip even the weather was really hot, over 30 deg celsius.
Lots of driving to see two sites. Our guide did not give much info about Bulgaria ( talked mostly about Romania). We were given minimal info about the sites and country and were pretty much dropped off at the sites and restaurant ( for lunch) without a “tour” experience.
Our tour guide, Rodica, was personable and gave us lots of good information. It was a long day of driving, but we enjoyed the sites and the overall tour. Had a very good lunch of local food, and time for some shopping.
