  • Very nice experience in a day outdoor in the mountains of Andes. The guide Gabriel was very kind and helpful, offer plenty offood for us! Thanks.

  • An excellent days drive into the Andes from Santiago.
At her cold and icy for the walk to the dam, but the weather is not to be controlled. Very nice picnic lunch with excellent bird watching.

  • This tour was amazing!

  • A tour doesn't get any better than this!! Our tour guide Gabe was very informative and knowledgeable about the city of Santiago. He arrived on time in his van to begin our trip to the Andes. He was eager to share about the history and culture of the city. He made a number of stops along the way that gave us an opportunity to experience this great place. The sites he choose to stop were great for photo opportunities and we boi did we few models on our excursion. Once we reached the mountains we saw glaciers, abandoned military base, waterfall, dam and visited a hillside restaurant primarily to use the restroom. This family owned business was one of the only companies that took their clients to the base of the mountains which provided more great views and photo opportunities. The lunch provided was enough to hold you over but the wine thee BEST ever. I'f your not booking this company, your selling yourself shot.

  • Tour was good
    Driver was friendly and knowledgeable
Only issue was that we were the only English speaking people on the tour so we were unable to mix with any of the other tourists

  • We had an amazing day with Gabriel. We got picked up on time, and because of the good communication the other people also got picked up on the right time so we didnt had to wait. Gabriel is a really good guide. He explained a lot of things about Cajon del Maipo but also a lot of things about Chile. He answered all the questions we had. And his English is really good. The picknick was really great with typical Chilean food and with a good Chilean wine. We had an amazing day, and Cajon del Maipo is really beautiful. I really recommend this tour with Gabriel!

  • Within minutes of booking a rather last-minute tour less than 7 days out, I received a Whats-app message from Alexandra just confirming the time and date of the tour. She answered all my questions immediately about the tour start and stop time, helped arrange alternate drop off location, and provided information about the weather more on that later - very prompt and professional!
The day prior, she informed me we would be picked up at 7:05 from our hostel by Gabriel. He was there 10 minutes prior and we picked up another couple and off we went. Gabriel provided excellent history and information during the roughly 2.5 hour trip to the reservoir. We made a stop after about an hour at an equipment rental stop where it was recommended to rent boots and snow pants - reason being the mud could be really bad and trekking around you may not want to get your own clothes dirty - as we were flying out immediately after we took this advice. 8000CLP for the boots and 8000CLP for the snow pants - cash only. This was also the only free opportunity to use a restroom. Another hour later we had a chance for a bathroom break but this one cost 500 CLP . Up to this point, the drive was over paved roads but now we were on dirt roads - they were a bit bumpy but Gabriel was good at avoiding the rough spots.
The day we went it was unfortunately cloudy which made it cooler and the lake more gray. However, the views were still breathtaking. We could tell Gabriel really wanted to find the perfect spot for our picnic break. We drove the entire length of the lake, stopping a few times for pictures. While we would have been fine with any location, Gabriel eventually settled on a beautiful spot with a great view of the mountains and lake. The picnic was an abundance of nuts, grapes, cheese, olives and of course - wine! It was an excellent opportunity to talk with the other couple as well as learn more about the area from Gabriel. After we were all full, we spent some time just chatting until the wind out of nowhere picked up and almost blew everything over. We decided to pack it in and start the trek home.
The trip was an excellent adventure and I highly recommend. Between Alexandra's prompt and efficient work and Gabriel's professional and informative tour - they clearly run an efficient operation and we would definitely be back.
A few notes: the early start time may seem almost excessively early given that you return between 4pm and 5pm but trust us - we were ahead of all the other groups and tours heading out to the lake and even on a friday, there were a large number of groups spread throughout the lake area. I can imagine on a weekend being there even an hour later would have been less enjoyable with the number of people there.
We went first week of June which is end of their fall. There was snow on the ground by the lake which made the mud worse at times and I wore jeans over long underwear and several layers on top with a wind breaker and hat and gloves. With the rented snowpants and boots, I was comfortable. If the sun would have been out and the wind not as strong, it would have been perfect, if not warm.
Again, overall I highly recommend this tour.

  • This was truly an amazing day trip. The Andes mountains were majestic. This trip included a number of sight seeing stops wherein you can take amazing pictures. The wine and cheese spread at the reservoir was another great experience. Would highly recommend this tour.

  • Gab gave us hands down one of the most memorable tours during our time in Santiago. Great conversation made the ride out seem quick and we liked the small group atmosphere. Great scenery and had a great picnic.
