Know More about this tour

Rise and shine, and hop aboard a climate-controlled bus from your hotel, which will transport you from Bucharest to Transylvania. Famous for its romantic views, thick forests, and many medieval castles, this central Romanian region is beautifully atmospheric…and home to the legend of Count Dracula.

This 12-hour tour is certain to please Bram Stoker fans looking to learn more about Romania’s most famous vampire, as Bran Castle — also known as “Dracula’s Castle” — is the first port of call. A 13th-century hilltop marvel, it’s one of Romania’s most popular (and macabre) landmarks. Peles Castle is also on the itinerary: the former summer residence of Romania’s royal family, it’s a Neo-Renaissance architectural masterwork.

Your day in Transylvania will continue with a walking tour of the medieval town of Brasov. Look out for landmarks like the Black Church and the city’s historic fortress walls, and enjoy some free time to scout out lunch, a coffee, and do some solo exploring. As the day winds down, hop back in the bus, which will drop you directly back at your hotel.

  • This tour was great, fun, relaxing, fascinating. Even though the rained, it was not pouring too hard during the times we were outside exploring. I learned a lot about Vlad the Impaler. Very interesting town of Brasov and beautiful castles! Tour guide, Marie, and driver were very welcoming and kind.

  • We had a great day on this excursion.. Our guide Mary was very knowledgeable and interesting.. The snow fell and it made the trip more beautiful. We got some lovely photos..The scenery on the way was fabulous. It was very safe at all times and we were picked up and dropped at our hotel.. Long drive home

  • Awesome trip, highly recommend.

  • Roxana was our quide. Was hopeless. Ruined whole experience. It felt like she couldnt wait for tour to be finished. Terrible.

  • Our tour guide was Roxanne and she was excellent. The trip was a very long one but most enjoyable. Would have been nice to had a little more time in Brasov but difficult to fit in everything in the day. Just one issue to report - the coach had a toilet but I was told it was broken. As we travelled several hours with limited stops, the comfort of being on a coach with a toilet would have been good. This view was also shared by several other travelers.

  • Everything was great, especially the tour guide , apart from the restaurant he recommended at Bran.

  • Excellent tour all around and I have been to many different countries. Use Viator whenever available as they never let me down. Tour Guide was very good and knowledgeable. Time was managed well. Sites are must see when in Romania. Highly recommended tour.

  • Excellent tour through wonderful countryside of Transylvania. I was a little disappointed with the castle as it was a little too pristine for my liking and I suppose my preconceived perception was that it would have been more of a rough and ready castle than somewhat the inside of a stately home. It was still an awesome experience though, to visit the home of the legendary Dracula nonetheless and the views out and back from Bucharest were breath taking. A must see castle when in Bucharest or surrounding area.

  • Wow...what an awesome experience! Our guide made the whole experience engaging and easy - would do it again!

  • This a an excellent snap shot tour of Peles and Bran castles and the Brasov. Emilia is knowledgeable of the places and I learned a lot even if I did some readings about the areas and people, i.e., Vlad the Impaler and the legends of Dracula, history of Brasov, etc., prior to joining the tour. Emilia is also responsive to the group and she did a great job of being a lead and facilitator like showing where is the best spot to take pictures, a good or alternate place to buy memorabilia, etc. Considering the distance of the places from Bucharest, it could have been bettter if we convened earlier like 7AM so that in case there is late comer, we can still leave at 7:30AM and be at the place earlier. Overall, this is a great tour that I would recommend to anyone visiting the country. I believe these places are part of the heart and soul of Romania and this tour is an excellent way to get acquainted with those places. Keep up th great job Emilia and Mr. Tripp. A. Ellis C.
