Take a day trip from Edinburgh to the beautiful Scottish highlands and get to know Loch Lomond, Trossachs National Park and Stirling castle. The remote region is home to spectacular natural scenery with picturesque dales, mountains and lochs as well as quaint villages. After visiting the banks of Loch Lomond and exploring the Trossachs National Park, continue to the city of Stirling. Discover Stirling castle on a tour (entrance own expense), and then return to Edinburgh via a stop at the Kelpies.

Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in central Edinburgh, and then head west through Scotland's Central Belt towards the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond where we take time at Balmaha to admire views of Ben lomond. Here, you will have the opportunity to go on a woodland walk that will afford you great views of the loch. Standing on its bank youwill understand why Loch Lomond has been immortalised in a world famous song.

From the famous stretch of water, continuethrough the Trossachs National Park, home to some of Scotlands most iconic Highland scenery. Pass through the twisting valleys, admiring the glens, loch and dense wilderness of the dales that embody the raw beauty of the Highlands.

In the afternoon, leave the Highlands and travel east to Scotlands former capital of Stirling. Head inside its star attraction Stirling castle and discover the places where many Scottish royals were crowned on a walking tour. The entrance fee is at your own expense, but once inside youll see some of the most impressive public rooms in Scotland including the lavish James IVs Hall and the Renaissance Royal Palace. Learn how the castle was central to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce'sfight in the Wars of Independence and hosted bloody sieges as well as much political intrigue.

On our return to Edinburgh, you will have the chance to visit and marvel at the stunning Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculptures dedicated to the horse-powered heritage of Central Scotland, designed by Andy Scott. It also celebratesthemythological transforming beasts living in our lochs, rivers and streams, who possessthe strength and endurance of 100 horses and drag people into the water.Fortunately, we don't encounter these spirits on our way to Edinburgh and we return early evening at approximately 5.30pm.

It was very disappointing! I thought I booked a day trip to Loch Lomond and trossachs but what it turned out to be was a two hour trip of the Stirling castle!!So pls don and #39;t advertise as Stirling is optional. Also had 50 minutes at Lomond so all we did was get a cup of coffee..waste of a day trip

I recommend this day tour. We went there last September 2016 and found the trip very nice. Loch Lomond was astounding! The hike to see a massive view of the lake was adventurous! Worth it.

We absolutely loved this tour! We were informed of some of the great historic tales of Scotland as we drove around, and we'd definitely recommend opting in for the Stirling Castle visit.

A wee bit of everything. Colossal Kelpies sculpture park, a delicious honeysuckle vanilla malt shop, a stroll along Loch Lomond, Brave Heart offerings, a castle featuring a wedding, Scottish tunes, a hip bus driver/guide. Great value!

I think the tour guides were knowledgable but the tour was disappointing. More time should have been devoted to the national park and we should have driven through some of it. I also think the stop at argfoyle was waste of time. Have the tour leave earlier and go to visitor center in park. Build in more time at loch lomand. Make that a lunch spot or have people bring lunch.

The tour was great! We had nice views and got a lot of informations about the history and the environment.

The tour guide was very nice. Very funny with a lot of interesting information about Scotland and the different locations that we visited.
It would have been better if we would have been allowed to spend more time at Stirling Castle. Its pretty large and considering that we returned to Edinburgh so early it would have been nice to spend the extra time at Stirling Castle. We should have stayed there until it closed.

Wish we had enough time to actually take the loch boat cruise as it looked so much fun. I wish the time constraint was more flexible. I felt like everything my husband and I wanted to do we couldn't because we were only given brief time in every stop.
