We visited Ajid and his family. A brilliant experience. He and his parents had excellent English so we were able to discuss lots of things about and get a good insight into life and society in India. The food vegetarian was also great, and it was interesting to understand how it was prepared.

This tour made a nice break from the historic buildings.
An opportunity to mix with the locals, discuss cultural differences, share in the preparation and eating of a meal.
Definitely a good choice. -
I wanted to share an experience with a working class family. My host was warm and gracious and I enjoyed the dinner. My recommendation to improve this experience is to schedule when guest is not traveling during rush hour. The trip was one hour going and three returning to hotel in New Delhi.

Whenever you have the opportunity to be invited into somebody’s home to learn about their culture, and more importantly learn to cook their food, you have to jump at the chance. Our host and guide welcomed us to her parents home in New Delhi with open arms, loving hearts and a mini feast. Dispelling the myth that Indian cooking requires tons of ingredients and time, our cooking lesson included pakoras, paneer masala, and puri, a meal that I think I could cook at home too.

An excellent way to get to realy know the people! My delightful guide Komal picked me up at my hotel and whisked me away in an airconditioned car to her northwestern Dehli home where I met her parents, grandma and younger brother - all anxious to practice their Engish while "mama" taught me how simple it was to try my hand at making a lovely veggie Indian meal! The food was great and the hands-on experience couldn't have been more fun! I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Delhi as a great way to REALLY see beyond the India Gate and the swarming traffic into the real heart of India!

Our guide, Komal, was so wonderful and articulate. She shared her family, home, and uncle's excellent cooking with us. Most importantly, we got to learn all about the wedding season that was going on when we were there and showed us how a middle class Indian family actually lives. A fabulous and worthwhile experience we will always remember!
-
Well prepared and everything in place - driver, host, meal plan, etc. Very friendly family in NW Delhi, Komal had us cooking before we knew it and even showed us some spice techniques we hadn't seen before. Very gracious and a complete experience - would do again.
-
This was a fun trip, made a little awkward by the number of people on it (there were six of us visiting one family), however this was partly our own fault as we had to re-arrange the date due to an illness in our party.
It was fascinating watching how to make some local food and chat to the family about their perceptions of life in Delhi and India.
Certainly worth doing - try and ensure you are in a party of no more than 4.

We were a group of 9 friends who took this activity and it was a great experience which we would thoroughly recommend. The evening was a fabulous insight into one family's home life in Delhi. Great food and great hospitality.

A great way to experience real life in an Indian household. The host was incredibly gracious and the cooking lessons were a lot of fun. One of the real highlights of our trip.
