Built between 1644 and 1658 it is India's largest mosque: it has two 40 meters high minarets and can hold as much as 25.000 people.

Red Fort
Built by Shahjahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal in Agra, the construction lasted from 1639 to 1648. (Closed on Mondays)

Go for a ride on a rickshaw through the clogged colorful arteries.

Delhi's finest example of Mughal architecture. Built by Humayun's widow, Queen Haji Begum in the 16th century, it is supposed to be the prototype of the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Akshardham temple
The Hindu mandir is one of Delhi most famous sites. The very recognisable building displays millennia of traditional Hindu and Indian culture, spirituality, and architecture.

Lotus Temple (Bahai Temple)
Situated on top of the Kalkaji Hill, it known as Lotus temple due to its distinctive lotus shaped design in white marble. It was built in 1987. The temple signifies the purity and equality of all religions.

  • The driver was pretty nice and took care of me! Would have liked someone a little more versed in history and information about the places I saw. This was more of just a driver taking me from place to place. He was nice, and I felt safe for the most part. He did suggest I leave my purse in the car for one of the temples that had lockers but I took it with me. Locked it up with NO issues...I was nervous he would drive off if I left all my stuff with him! People seemed to want to rip me off with improper change etc all day so who knows if he would have done that. This tour company has great reviews on trip advisor so hopefully that would not have happened. But I'm paranoid! Luckily day went well and despite traveling by myself I was safe and had a great day!

  • Be aware the tour doesn't include a guide - just a driver who was friendly and spoke few words of English but did not even attempt to explain much about where we're going/ what we're seeing etc.
When arranging for the tour I recommend to ask about:
    - entry fees, i.e. how much money to have on you I was in Delhi at an unfortunate time of banknotes withdrawal and it was impossible to get cash anywhere
    - estimates for time spent per location visited - we run out of time and I didn't get to see in total three locations in the itinerary the Lotus Temple was already closed when we got there at 5pm - shouldn't a guide know about this?, the parliament building was apparently unreachable as the road was closed, and the Humayun's Tomb we missed too.
All in all, the service here is a personal driver - that much you could arrange with a hotel too.
