After taking your deluxe flight from Las Vegas out to the Grand Canyon South Rim, you will be transported into Grand Canyon National Park to enjoy awe-inspiring vistas, panoramic overlooks and trails that can only be accessed via foot from inside the national park. Enjoy the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and enjoy a gourmet box lunch at Bright Angel Lodge, near some local shopping and the famous El Tovar Lodge.

Upgrade and add on a 25-minute helicopter flight to fly over 55 miles of the widest and deepest part of the Grand Canyon. The views are breathtaking. During your flight you will see the Tower of Ra, Dragon Corridor, Kaibab National Forest and the mighty Colorado River.

Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.

Pilots are unable to assist passengers boarding and disembarking due to insurance regulations

  • We were bumped twice for this trip, once because Maverick decided to perform maintenance on the plane AFTER we were accepted on a certain date and then because of the Trump visit. Makes sense to me to pre-allocate a slot to maintain an aircraft and block the date out so guests cannot be booked on that day but what do I know. The operator on the phone had a take it or leave it attitude and we had no option but to accept the West Rim rather than our original South Rim option on the only date we had open on our short trip. The Viator blurb describes a gourmet lunch box included. No idea why Maverick feel the need to use the word gourmet, which is absurd. It was a piece of chicken and mash dolloped onto a paper plate. Perfectly adequate but to say gourmet was just silly. Maverick should rather train their pilots to know where this feast is served. He told us we could eat at either Station 2 or 3 but not in the Skywalk Restaurant. At Station 2 they had never heard of Maverick and we queued for lunch only to be turned away. Courtesy of a waitress, she told us we had go to the Guano restaurant at Station 3 and, sure enough, that's where lunch is served. Something that we could have been told at check-in but the staff there were generally discourteous. Best of all, on the security leaflet we were given, the last sentence states that gratuities for the pilots are accepted and appreciated. This was encouraging. Whilst I appreciate the USA would shut down as a country if ever gratuities were eliminated, you want to believe, prior to flying, that Maverick pay their pilots a decent enough wage, but apparently not. This was a concern. Or maybe you are supposed to tip them as gratitude for bringing you back alive? The bus drivers and pilots expected grats but not the check-in staff who are apparently paid adequately. Go figure. As a final salvo, we asked if possible to please be put on a bus with the fewest drop-offs on the way home as we had theatre reservations and were flying today only becase we had been bumped. The response? When it came to loading the buses, Maverick forgot us altogether!! The 4 of us were left like lemons like unwanted players being picked for the school team. Eventually, they just shoved us onto one of the 4 buses. Unsurprisingly, I would not recommend Maverick and direct you to another company. I would also not recommend the Skywalk. For 22, you get only a very marginal better view and they forbid cameras and cell phones so you cannot take any pictures so that they can skin you for the pictures they take of you to sell at an exorbitant price.

  • Hotel pick up was 20 mins late but apart from that we had a fantastic day. Very well organised, the commentary on the flight was knowledgeable and got some great views. We flew over the Hoover dam and west rim of the canyon before landing at the South rim. Some amazing photo opportunities and no attempt made to try to sell us anything extra. The only thing is we didn't know that the South rim is 10 degrees Celsius cooler than Vegas so had underdressed and felt very cold. Take a jumper!

  • The staff was top notch and organized. Pick up at my hotel was . The plane trip was a quick way to save time. Im glad I added the helicopter to the tour. It really allowed me to be up close and personal with Canyon. Breathtaking! Large panoramic windows. Wish we could have spent more time at the Rim . Felt a bit rushed. Nice lunch.

  • The trip was well organised and a must. We just about managed but should have took a jackets as was a bit cool on plane and 10 degrees when landed. Warmed up latter on. Views we awesome!!!!! Enjoyed every minute. Helicopter is a must if you can afford it.

  • The trip to the Canyon was amazing, definitely a highlight of our holiday. Getting to the Canyon on the jet was great, a very smooth flight. The pilots were very friendly and we were allowed up to the cockpit to take photos. It would have been nice to have a bit longer at the Canyon. Our trip started with a pick up from the hotel at 06:40 and was back at the hotel by 14:00 which gave us the rest of the day to spend on the strip.

  • From pick up at the hotel to drop off this was an excellent trip and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the Grand Canyon. The flight organisation was very professional and we felt completely safe in their hands. Bruce's commentary on the bus tour was also very informative.

  • This trip was fantastic and I will tell you why. We were given a time for the pickup from our hotel and that was the time the coach was there.In fact we went to the second pick up and the driver was 5 minutes early so he waited until the pick up time. The trip to the airport was easy and the checking in was effortless. We waited for our flight and while waiting you could purchase coffee drinks etc. Our group were called together and taken to the aircraft. There was photo opportunity with one of the crew members. Maverick Airways were very professional. The scenery flying to the GC was spectacular. Our guide for the trip was also on board and upon touch down he took over , Bruce was funny and interesting and made the whole experience a very enjoyable time.
    For this who are going there for the first time, I would like to help others by saying that whatever temperature you left, the Canyon will be 10- 15 degrees colder. remember to take a fleece and waterproofs/umbrella , the weather can be unpredictable and the last thing you want is to be cold. Sensible shoes is the order of the day.
    This trip, if you only do it once is well worth the money. Well done to both Viator and Maverick for a very well run, slick operation.

  • Picked up at our Las Vegas Hotel by Stephanie. Chatty, informative and a safe driver. Very well organised Maverick signing in staff. Our Pilots introduced themselves and took us to our aircraft. Photographs were taken before we entered the aircraft. The take off was perfect with our propeller aircraft. During the flight we were given the chance to speak to the Pilot who also took selfies with us and he took photos around the cockpit and of the start of the Grand Canyon. When we landed there was a great looking red trolley type bus ready to take us to the best vista sights at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We had a packed lunch during our visit, turkey roll, crisps, a cookie and a drink, very tasty. We had approximately just over 2 hrs at the Grand Canyon. We went to Angel Lodge and Mathers Point. stunning views of the South Rim. Some of our party took a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, which was an extra to the Tour. We were then driven back to the airfield where our Maverick aircraft was waiting. I had previously taken a bus tour to the Grand Canyon which lasted all day and back late evening. So glad we choose to fly there this time. This time we were back in Vegas with plenty of time to enjoy the pool. Well done all Maverick staff and Pilots.

  • Awesome awesome awesome a must to do! Plane ride was a great experience itself and once landed just an awesome place, so unreal. Everything on this trip was excellent from start to finish...worth purchasing vs helicopter
