Know More about this tour
Leaving Inch we carry on with our coastal drive out through the gaeltacht where our native language is spoken until we come to Dingle home to Fungi the Dolphin. Fungi was first spotted in Dingle Bay in the 1980s and has made it his home ever since. Boats go out to visit him on an hourly basis and Dingle is well known for the friendly locals and its a colourful town with a very busy harbour voted the third best place to visit in Ireland in 2014.
Out along the rugged coastline we take The Slea Head Drive, elevated approximately 100 metres above the ocean, the Atlantic on the left, mountains to the right and looking out at The Skelligs, The Blaskets and Dead Mans Island it is truly picturesque. We will see the beehive huts which the skellig monks lived in dating back 2000 BC, we will also see famine houses and get a taste of how people lived through these harsh times in Irish history. Also on this route we will see where the movie of Far and Away was filmed and it was here Tom Cruise famously met Nicole Kidman, we can stop at the fertility stone and get to see The Three Sisters Peaks and Mount Brandon which is the second tallest mountain in Ireland. Following all that fresh air we head back to Dingle for some lunch and maybe a pint, always a few stories and a many laughs along the way.
