Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for its valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the oldest demarcated wine region with unique landscapes of vineyards and the magical Douro River giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
Arriving in Sabrosa, we'll make our first visit of the day. We'll discover the first of two wineries where you'll learn about the production and history of the Douro region and its wines. You'll have the opportunity to taste different wines before lunch. After the visit, lunch will be served - a traditional Portuguese meal accompanied by red or white wine from the Douro.
After lunch we will drive through the Douro roads on the way to Pinho and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region.
Now it's time to set sail! Enjoy a 50-minute panoramic cruise on the Douro River from Pinho aboard a traditional Rabelo boat.

All was good - nice ride, good visits, boat was a nice change. But the boat was a very short ride and seriously I would have thought a glass of wine on the boat during a wine tour would have been a nice touch. NOTE: this is NOT like a wine tour in the US. The wineries did not even sell the ports and moscats that they had us try. Very odd. But it was worth the money, the food was plentiful and the wine tasting was fun.

Condutor e guia muito simpáticos, divertidos e acolhedores. Degustação e vinhos de mesa de excelência que deveria ter sido acompanhado com um prato da região ou um prato de bacalhau. Almoço muito fraco e comida fria. Opção vegie nada apelativa e de má qualidade. Descrição do percuso no site muito vaga e pouco esclarecedora, o que induz em erro e falsas expectativas. Passeio de barco muito curto e pouco lugares sentados. Viagem de regresso ao Porto de autocarro cansativa e aborrecida. Sendo Portuguesa não recomendaria pois conhecendo a região os pontos mais fortes não foram explorados : comida, passeio barco . Aliás a degustação final do vinho do Porto deveria ter sido acompanhada também com queijo ou enchidos da região e porque não ter sido feita no Barco!

We enjoyed the lady at the first winery the most. She was knowledgeable and entertaining. We also liked the lunch and we had a fun travel group.

Beautiful scenery, delicious lunch, and interesting stories and oké és of information from our tour guide Pedro, all conveyed in an enthusiastic, funny yet polite way. It was a great day!

It was not worth the money. There were 4 couples crammed into a small van. The driver did talk but did not use the microphone so those in the back could not hear him. The couple in the front asked questions to which we also could not hear, and the driver answered but like I said, we could not hear anything. The wine tasting and tour was pretty much the same at both wineries. The lunch was just okay. The boat ride was unnecessary. not a fan.

Tiago is a great guide, always happy and talkative and trying to accommodate any desire and make you enjoy the trip. Manuel is a good driver and we felt safe. BUT this is not a wine tour. Is a nice journey on the beautiful Douro river valley. The first(bonus) stop was a little town nothing to do with wine; the "winery" Vintage Theory - where we had (an average at best) lunch was a beautiful estate but instead of a proper visit we just had a rushed tasting of 3 tawny ports. The lady giving it was downright awful, not liking questions, no explanation of process, grapes,p types of port except a ranting against vintage ones...Then an useless 30 mins boat trip on a super packed smelly boat - no explanation no drinks nothing. Then finally a visit to a proper winery - Quinta S Luiz from Kopke- which though short was at least a visit to the winery, some explanation etc. 3 wines -one white, one red, one port. The tour takes almost 12 hours out of which max 1.5 are about wine...
