Best part of the cruise beside the scenery itself was the fact that i have A LOT of food intolerances and they catered to me perfectly! Every meal they brought out like 5 plates of food for me to eat and as someone who has to follow a low fodmap diet this was amazing as in vietnam i was eating plain rice and grilled meat only. Never felt so accomodated regarding dietary requirements ever!! My only recomendation with thr cruise is that the swimming portion should be done earlier in the day opposed to at 4pm. The room was amazing and the ship was pristine! Please note future travellers this is not a party cruise and there were single boy travellers who tried to make it so. Pick another tour please and dont hastle couples trying to zen out with your loud music on your portable stereo.
This cruise absolutely exceeded my expectations! I read that Halong Bay was super crowded and touristy so opted for Dragon Legend which toured Bai Tu Long Bay instead and I’m so glad I did. The cruise was stunning and peaceful and we saw very few ships once we were out of the Halong Bay area. The staff and tour guide were incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was also perfect - we had a huge soft bed, spacious bathroom with a bathtub, and view of the water. They took us kayaking and on a boat tour of the fishing village, both of which were fun and allowed us to get closer to beautiful landscape. Highly recommend!
A fantastic trip with everything smoothly run. From the moment we were picked up at our hotel in a luxury van, to the sorting of our room, luggage, meals … everything was so well organised. The boat is fantastic with air con in the rooms. The food seemed to be non stop. Once we were out in the bay we hardly saw any other boats, our kayaking, swimming and fishing village visits were just with our boat. The fishing village was fascinating as an international effort to preserve this culture. We had the most amazing views, sunset and sunrise. Everything was taken care of. Thank you
This was a highlight of our trip to Vietnam. We had booked on Dragon’s Pearl but were upgraded for free to the Dragon Legend. From the moment we were picked up at our hotel in Hanoi the organisation was great. Us and our 3 teens had 3 rooms on the boat which were all spacious and clean. All the staff were amazing. Special mention to ‘Milky Man’ who kept us entertained with his chat and magic tricks! The food was the best food that we ate in all of Vietnam. If you like seafood you’re in for a treat! We felt we got excellent value for money. It was a very magical experience watching the sun set as we sat on the top deck. Book it!
The cruise was great, very relaxing but full of adventure. The staff were very nice and accomodating. We would highly recommend this to all who visit Vietnam.
What and amazing experience!! From start to finish our trip with Indochina Junk was superb. The boat itself is simply amazing let alone all of the activities that come along with the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the kayaking and late night squid fishing that they had to offer, as well as, the tour through the fishing village on the second day. Not to mention the endless amounts of delicious Vietnamese food that had on offer! Would definitely book again!
I was really sorry to see that this company was so unfriendly to fat people. I inquired about booking a tour with the company and they sent me a brochure that had a list of groups discouraged from booking, which included tall people, people with disabilities, and people that are overweight. I am overweight, but in good health (recently verified by my doctor). I kayak and swim ALL THE TIME. I have no problem with nature walks or mild/moderate hikes. I don't understand why this company, in the year 2022, can't stock a couple extra large life jackets and a kayak with a higher weight limit.
This was incredible. This was one of the highlights of my Vietnam trip. Highly recommend. Everything was excellent- the boat, rooms, food, excursions. amazing.
I could not believe the luxury and beauty of the ship. Although Ha Long and Bai Tu Bays are far from Hanoi, it's worth the ride. Was a DREAM. COCO was the best! And so was Mike our server <3
We got upgraded to the Dragon Legend Boat a few days before our trip to Bai Tu Long. Our cabin was excellent - very large and comfortable bed. Large bathroom including a corner tub. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and smiley. The food was fantastic, as fish eating vegetarians the staff tailored the set menus so we got all the best options. Lots of variety, and tasty too. The wine was a little pricey but that's to be expected for Vietnam. Trying Tai Chi was fun, and the cave stop was a nice addition. On the downside (and not necessarily 100% the fault of the Indochina Junk Co) - the check in process the the ferry building is a nightmare. Crazy busy, chaotic and not overly organised. It could certainly be improved. We didn't really enjoy the sculpture/art selling stop en route either. Too long, and nowhere warm to enjoy a decent hot drink. The water puppet show was OK, but we had to wait nearly an hour for everyone to arrive before it got started. Not ideal.
