The tour left on time but halted again at another stop by the Municipal Building. The driver shut off the bus and we cooked for about 10 minutes more with no additional passengers. Some people got off and stood in the street as it was cooler. We had to stop at a ladies hotel as well as she forgot her passport??? I was seriously considering just bagging the whole thing as we waited for her to get back from her room but really wanted to see Dresden. We finally left town but didn't have much air conditioning on the way to Dresden. The people in the back of the bus were very unhappy and yelled at the driver. It was hot and cramped.

The tour guide was very hard to understand and didn't seem to know the museum. After about 20 minutes of the guide fumbling about with the group trying to get tickets and find the entry area, I decided I was better off alone and left. Things got much better after that and I hired one of the guys by the church that pedal the tuk-tuk like rides by the church to be my guide. This was the highlight of the trip. He took me all over and showed me the town and many details I would have never known without him. I would really recommend one to anyone wanting a local's take and insight to the town.

I wanted to make sure I would not miss the bus back, so I stopped at the Turtle Bay where you can see the bus stop maybe a 3 minute walk away. I really liked it there and it was relaxing to have drinks and a snack while I waited. The menu is in German but the wait staff are super helpful and the bathrooms are nice. I did feel like I was in Jamaica for a minute which was weird and nice at the same time.

Of course the bus left late as people decided to go get waters at the last minute??? Not sure why they didn't get them in the hours we were there, or why the guide and driver said it was okay while the rest of the bus cooked yet again with no air for an additional 10 minutes..........

Not exactly by car, but by coach with a bunch of Russians. Tour leader was openly anti-semitic, luckily not much time spent with him. I might have taken the train instead.
