Know More about this tour

Start your dining experience at Dublins Mespil Road by stepping aboard the Guinness Canal Barge MV Cadhla a barge modeled on a 1920s boat that was used to distribute Guinness around the capital.

Enjoy a selection of drinks from our on board bar (not included in ticket price), or simply take a seat at your table inside the boats lower dining saloon as we glide along one of Dublins historic waterways. Our welcoming crew will be at your disposal throughout the cruise so sit back and relax as they serve you a hearty Irish meal and look out of the windows to see the city locks and sights along the canal. • Great food as well as outstanding service. Allowed us to board early and served cocktails even though the crew was still preparing the meal, etc, While boat ride was short, it was enjoyable and interesting to observe navigating the locks. View outside of the boat was nice, but cooler temps at night. Sunset added to the experience.

  • I would have gone on this more than once in the same week--such a delicious dinner and such a romantic, peaceful atmosphere.

  • An absolutely lovely way to spend the evening. The staff were terrific and it was so interesting to see how the canal system worked.

  • The dinner was great and we enjoyed the opportunity to meet fellow diners. We were disappointed that the barge trip was not longer but overall had a great time.

  • Somewhat disappointed in the timing. Dinner was below decks and took the entire time of the cruise. Would have preferred dining in one direction then deck time on the return. And please, is there another type of fish in Britain and Ireland than Hake? Taste and texture free!

  • One of the highlights for us in Dublin, this Dinner cruise is not to be missed, fabulous meal and great experience.

  • Definitely worth it...and don't just sit in the boat but get out and watch the workings of the locks, etc...the food was also good...

  • This is a romantic experience on the canal. Food was fresh made right on board. It was different as you are on a canal lock system. Worth the ride.

  • A brilliant evening down cruise down the grand canal on board a old Guinness barge, found the staff to be very friendly
    and the food was amazing
you can also go on top of the barge and watch how they go through the canal locks
my only disappointment is that we wasn't told about the history of the barge
but I would recommend to do this evening trip while in Dublin

  • We saved this for the last night of our trip, and it was a perfect ending to our 7 day stay in Dublin. Food was very delicious and it was cool to see the locks at work as we cruised along the canal with Guinness in hand! A little snug on the inside, but service was great.
