Know More about this tour

Rise early to meet your host outside the Vatican Museums, and then head straight inside to the Sistine Chapel, hearing about its history and treasures on the way (talking is not permitted inside). As one of the first visitors of the day, make the most of this sacred room without the crowds, and stand up close to incredible artwork such as Michelangelos The Last Judgement the iconic blue fresco that adorns the chapels back wall.

The Renaissance-era genius was also responsible for the Sistine Chapels ceiling frescoes, collectively representing one of the largest bodies of artwork to be painted by just one person. Gaze upward and marvel at scenes depicting Old Testament tales like the world-famous Creation of Adam, where God brings Adam to life with the touch of his finger.

After strolling around the chapel, admiring the works and soaking up the sacred atmosphere of the popes private chapel, head into the Vatican Museums with your entrance ticket and map. Then, explore at leisure, enjoying seeing more incredible art work before the later-morning crowds arrive.

Your visit to the museum complex is independent, meaning that you can see whatever you want to see and spend as long as you want inside. Explore must-visit halls like the Gallery of Maps and Raphaels Rooms, and see classical antiquities, Etruscan artifacts and some of the worlds most exquisite pieces of Renaissance artwork.

  • This was superb! It's a completely different experience getting to view in the Chapel and indeed other galleries without the heaving crowds. As mentioned by others, once you reach the Sistine Chapel, the tour part is finished our lovely guide remained in the chapel available to answer quiet questions till 8.30am but you then get to spend as long as you like in the rest of the Vatican Museums once you've seen the Sistine Chapel. We stayed for pretty much the whole day due to the one-way system, and wanting to go back to see bits we'd missed, we ended up doing 3 complete circuits, passing through the Sistine chapel each time - the 3rd of which was at slow shuffling pace due to the dense crowds, even in February! The chance to go out via St Peter's, avoiding the separate queue to get in there, was another huge advantage.

  • First tour in the door. Awesome

  • Whether you get Early Access or not, the sights you see inside these hallowed is the same. However, the EXPERIENCE can only be felt with this tour. The tour guide and information added incredible fun and value to the trip, things you just may not know even if you stopped to read every placard. The impact of how much time you saved, and the privilege of being able to see most everything without a sea of people blocking the way is not realized until you leave and see the hours-long line of people waiting to get in. I can't imagine seeing this any other way. The quiet time in the Sistine Chapel alone is worth it.

  • Sino estas interesado en hacer un recorrido guiado por los museos vaticanos, es extremadamente recomendable. Realmente se ve la capilla sixtina de un modo privado. La organización perfecta. Y además después vas a san pedro cuando todavía está casi sin visitantes

  • This tour was excellent and very well organised. There was a lot of people waiting but we soon put into groups and got on our way.
We entered through the Vatican museum and our guide pointed out many different things to us saying that we could return there later.
We were all keen to enter the chapel which is just amazing. The English speaking guide was excellent and we would highly recommend the early access, worth every cent!! We then entered St Peter's and wandered around there without the huge crowds. There were other people there also but I understand I can become very very crowded. There was a very long line of people in the piazza when we left St Peter's.

  • Definitely the best way to see the Sistine Chapel! We had a short guided walk through the museum he was so interesting and knowledgable I could have listened to him all day then the opportunity to share the Chapel with perhaps a dozen people rather than the huge crowds who are usually there. A wonderful experience. The guide then left and we were able to wander around museum for as long as we needed.

  • Coming to the Vatican early was the best! By the time we arrived at the Sistene Chapel, you could feel the crowds building. We had time to look up and take it all in without feeling like you were in a can of sardines. Such a great guide and a marvelous experience.

  • Guide never turned up; company didn’t reply to phone calls - we are out of pocket for cost of tour. Can not recommend.

  • What is good about this tour is that you get access to the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum earlier than the rest of the other tour groups and i mean, everyone else! When we finished our tour at the vatican museum, we ended up in Sistine Chapel, I decided to go back to the Vatican Museum and had coffee at a cafe in the Vatican and the area was still not crowded.

Our tour guide briefly talked about the Vatican Museum as we passed by each of the paintings, etc. which was sufficient for me.

    Definitely recommended!

  • You get to see the highlights of the museum and the chapel before it gets crowded. Great experience.
