Know More about this tour

Rise early to meet your host outside the Vatican Museums, and then head straight inside to the Sistine Chapel, hearing about its history and treasures on the way (talking is not permitted inside). As one of the first visitors of the day, make the most of this sacred room without the crowds, and stand up close to incredible artwork such as Michelangelo’s The Last Judgement – the iconic blue fresco that adorns the chapel’s back wall.

The Renaissance-era genius was also responsible for the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling frescoes, collectively representing one of the largest bodies of artwork to be painted by just one person. Gaze upward and marvel at scenes depicting Old Testament tales like the world-famous Creation of Adam, where God brings Adam to life with the touch of his finger.

After strolling around the chapel, admiring the works and soaking up the sacred atmosphere of the pope’s private chapel, head into the Vatican Museums with your entrance ticket and map. Then, explore at leisure, enjoying seeing more incredible art work before the later-morning crowds arrive.

Your visit to the museum complex is independent, meaning that you can see whatever you want to see and spend as long as you want inside. Explore must-visit halls like the Gallery of Maps and Raphael’s Rooms, and see classical antiquities, Etruscan artifacts and some of the world’s most exquisite pieces of Renaissance artwork.

  • They took you there and left you alone with the magnificent Sistine Chapel - out of this world! Totally worth the money and getting up early. Checked out St. Peter's too before everyone else arrived. When I walked out to the square, the queue was LONG to get in. Definitely do this early access - you would have the whole museum to YOURSELVES.

  • We met at the bottom of the steps by a cafe across the entrance to the Vatican. We were then taken into the Vatican Museum before the crowds. There were only 2 groups the day I went and it was great. Highly recommended to skip the lines and crowd.

  • It was well worth it

  • amazing !!!

  • This is the only way to see the Sistine Chapel, we went after going back to see the Raphael Rooms and when we returned only an hour later you could not move. It was noisy people were trying to take pictures and the guards hollering NO PHOTO. There is no way of enjoying or appreciating this when the conditions are like that. We were lucky enough to find this booking which allowed us to be the first group in the Chapel 15 of us.

  • Excellent tour, great opportunity to see the Sistine Chapel with no crowds or time pressure.

  • It was a good tour. However, it was very long.

  • Observing the works of art throughout the chapel in silence as one of a dozen total people was awesome. The tour guide also provided an outline and background information which was very helpful.

  • Our guide Vasco was very knowledgeable and explained so much it made our visit that much more memorable. The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica are obviously a must-see, both are stunning and beyond belief. Early morning tour was a good call too.

  • We absolutely loved this tour and were pleased we made the decision to spend the money and have the early access tour. Alesandro was very friendly and informative and, having gone back round again, we really appreciated having avoided the massive crowds that were filling the place by then.
