Know More about this tour

See Rome before the city wakes up and the crowds arrive! This early morning walking tour with a local guide covers all of the major sights of the city centre, from the Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain to St. Peter's Square. Perfect for early-birds, photographers, families and anyone who wants to see what Rome's famous sights look like without crowds of tourists.

Meet your knowledgable local guide at 7AM sharp at the Spanish Steps. The steps sure look different when that aren't covered with visitors! Take the perfect picture before your group moves on to the Trevi Fountain. It's a treat to get a spot up close to this impressive monument, standing an imposing 86 feet high and 160 feet wide. Your local English-speaking guide will walk you through the 100 years of fascinating history that contributed to its making. The next stops are the Temple of Hadrian and the Pantheon. The soft early-morning light and empty piazzas are the perfect conditions in which to take the best photos of your trip.

After a brief opportunity for a coffee break (own expense) at Rome's most famous espresso bar, you'll move on to a wide-open Piazza Navona where Bernini's masterpiece Fountain of the Four Rivers waits for us. From Piazza Navona we'll weave our way through Rome's ancient alleyways before popping out at the Bridge of Angels, which leads us on to Castel Sant'Angelo and St. Peter's Square.

This walking tour comes to its end at St. Peter's Square at 9:30AM.

  • This tour was excellent! Even if you are not an early bird, it's worth the effort to get out before the crowds. Starting at the Spanish Steps and ending near St. Peters, we were able to have an up close and personal view of the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon as well as other sites along the way. We stopped at a wonderful coffee shop for our break. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, and there were only a handful of us on the tour. Would definitely do it again!

  • It was so well worth the very early morning start, our guide took to see some very interesting sights and on the way he gave us lots of extra information and that is key because it assists in our understanding of the local architecture, customs and the locals

  • Probably one of the best tours we have had. Yes, getting up to get there for 7 is a bit of a struggle, but boy it's well worth the effort. Our guide was an archaeologist too so that was like opening a Pandora's box - so much knowledge! The whole tour just flew by, it was so interesting, well planned, nothing was too long or not long enough - just perfect. And we have seen so many places during the tour! Beat the crowds and heat, get up and join the group - worth every penny and skipped breakfast you will have an option to grab a bite during the tour, and of course a coffee : .

  • Excellent tour ... Rome was hot in June, we're early birds and like to walk, so this was terrific way to see some of the city in reasonable comfort. Guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and a great story teller. She was also very flexible, letting us stop for coffee at the behest of part of the group. Small group allowed for easy Q/A. Definitely for content and execution. Highly recommend to others.

  • Definitely great to beat the crowds and we had an enjoyable time.

  • Our tour guide Giulia is very knowledgeable and sweet.

  • This is DEFINITELY worth getting up early for! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, very personable and had a tremendous amount of information and tidbits about the City of Rome itself. We met at the base of The Spanish Steps and wandered at a easy pace through the streets of Rome. We paused at the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Castel Sant'Angelo, Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi and many tiny streets and passages along the way. SO happy we did this!

  • We were told this tour did not make the number needed for the tour, however, the company went ahead and did the tour. It was my husband, I and one other person. Daniella was fabulous. I cannot say enough good about her. She took us all over Rome without the crowds and we saw things that you would never have seen without a guide. She has so much knowledge to share. I would give this more than 5 star if it were available.
