Fay was a fluent, charming, intelligent and, thankfully, calming guide for a superb and powerful dip into these dark vaults. Be warned that it has some horribly gory elements. The whisky at the end, with accompanying ghost stories, was very welcome! I highly recommend this tour.

Wife and daughter have never been to Edinburgh and were interested by the historical offering of Auld Reekie. We booked this tour as my daughter is 10 and it seemed suitable and appropriate, which it absolutely was. Scott, our tour guide was excellent and his narration interesting and delivered in his own style. Walking was around 1000 steps and was not exhausting. When we descended in to the vaults it added to the mystery and unexplained, in my daughters words, Spooktacular! After about 70 min you end up in a room in the vaults, enjoy a welcomed drink and listen to more ghostly stories for the final 20 min as you enjoy either an alcoholic or soft drink. Worth every penny! Thank you Scott!

We knew this wasn't going to be "scary" but didn't have any idea how....not scary it would be. Our guide Scott was really nice and the walk to the vaults was nice, despite the rain (it's Scotland) but it really was lackluster. I feel like photos should have been encouraged. Yes, no flash due to it being dark but try to have some fun with it. The ending with the whiskey tasting, it was nice that you weren't committed to having just whiskey. There were other options, which was nice. But to feel like we were obligated to stay after the "tasting", that was a bummer. We would have left. Or would have been nice to again been encouraged to take some nice, fun photos. We felt like jerks for trying to have a bit of fun with it. Scott, again, really great guy and informative....needs to have a little more fun.

Amazing tour! So much fun. The small group makes for a fun and intimate experience. Took my 9 and 14 year old sons and they had a blast.

Michael took us around the sights and was an absolutely fantastic tour guide. It's clear that he loves what he is doing, and what he shared was super interesting and compelling. As a note, this is a mildly historical tour and more about the creepy side of Edinburgh. They make this pretty clear in the instructions, but if you want more history and less spooky, then check out their other tours. Also, please give Michael a hooded cloak - he definitely deserves it!!!

Tour started on time, and was very easy to find the meet up spot. We loved the additional sound aides as it was raining and would have been difficult to hear otherwise. Michael was our guide and story teller and he did a fabulous job of getting into the role, and bringing the stories to life. Was a very fun evening activity. Highly recommend.

Had a great time. Our guide, Jared, was very entertaining and knowledgeable. About half the tour is at street level with some interesting stories, and then there are several rooms in the vault that have their own ghost stories. Finished with a place in the cellar to sit at tables, enjoy a bit of whiskey, and hear some more ghostly tales. Jared made the tour interactive which was fun. I had my ears cut off for carelessly toasting the king and my wife was hanged for rabbit thievery lol.

Loved it! Mark was an amazing guide and definitely made the experience as great as it was. He was very compelling and had the mysterious voice down haha. I loved the use of audience members during recounts of history facts, very funny. The vaults were very interesting to see and there were so many different rooms with different stories which I wasn’t expecting. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun and superstitious experience in Edinburgh.

This tour started off at an easy to reach meeting spot, I was given a headset and volume control and introduced to our guide, Fay. She was small but mighty, a gifted storyteller and experienced. The headsets allowed us to be in high volume spaces but hear her over the commotion and crowds - genius. The tour was great - lots of stories with detail, easily walkable, and the vaults were fascinating. So much life in Edinburgh beyond the surface and this tour is a great reminder. The stories told were credible and interesting. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy a drink of your choice (whiskey is recommended) and sit around for questions and stories. Fay has some stories to share if you run out of questions. Highly recommend this company.
