Overview
Let us send a few shivers up your spine on this late evening, 75 minute, ghost tour of Edinburghs Old Town. The history of Scotlands capital is one not just made up of royalty, inventors, writers and scholars but also murderers, witches, bodysnatchers even cannibals. Allow one of our costumed guides, who play one such roguish former citizen, to enlighten and frighten you for the evening. Theyll take you through the winding closes and darkened courts of the Old Town, all the while telling about the horrific events which took place there. Following that theyou will journey to perhaps Scotlands most haunted graveyard, Greyfriars Kirkyard. For the last part of the tour youll be taken down into our decidedly sinister underground vaults below South Bridge. This tour is perfect for lovers of scary stories and the bloodier side of Scotlands history but is more relaxed in tone than our later extreme paranormal tour.

Ann Martin had so much fun giving the tour it guaranteed that everyone on it was going to have a good time. From jumps to laughs, this tour is recommended for all ages. A dark history unveiled and just enough spook to send some tingles up your spine, but won’t keep you up at night…unless one of the ghosts happened to have followed you home….

Had a wonderful ghost tour. Learned a lot of history and had fun while doing it. The red witch hostess was fabulous! Knowledgeable and very entertaining!

We had Rosemary as our guide, no disrespect to her as she seemed lovely, whether she is new I’m not sure as we have done a lot of tours since 2018 but she didn’t really set the scene like other guides, assuming she was maybe a witch but she didn’t introduce herself as anything whereas other guides get into character and are really engaging, a lot of us couldn’t even hear her as she was quite quiet, she would start talking before all the group were there too so a lot of people missed what she was saying. There wasn’t really any comedy to the tour which we had experienced previously so given the £151 our group spent we were all left quite disappointed and feel it’s wasn’t worth the money compared to previous tours we have done. Really feel awful as Rosemary seemed a nice person but her delivery of the tour wasn’t great.

Great tour! The Red Witch led us through the dark past of Edinburgh. Above and underground. Greyfriers graveyard is beautiful and frightening at the same time. Had a lot of fun.

Tour guide "Dr. Knox" was great - funny, colorful, interesting stories, answered questions, etc. Kept my kids entertained throughout which was no small feat after we'd already walked them several miles around Edinburgh. The finish in the vaults underground was really spooky!
