Your tour starts with pickup from your Seville hotel in the early morning. Aboard a comfortable coach, head on a 1-hour drive to Doana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europes largest natural wetland reserves!
When you arrive, hop in a 4WD vehicle for an exciting tour of the park with your guide. Witness a variety of ecosystems as you travel along lagoons, dunes and beaches and through marshlands and forests. Spot abundant wildlife such as birds, reptiles, amphibian and mammals, as well as endangered species such as the Egyptian mongoose.
After your adventure, head to the village of El Rocio, a world-renowned pilgrimage site. Learn how this site dates back to the 13th century and see the Virgin of El Roco, a small, much-venerated carved wood religious statue.
Next, soak in the beautiful scenery of Matalascaas Beach. Enjoy free time to take a leisurely stroll on the sand and enjoy an authentic Spanish meal (own expense) nearby. Then, relax on the journey back to Seville.

Amazing Trip! It rained the day we went so made the experience more exciting.
You could smell Pine trees and Eucalyptus everywhere, it was so peaceful. The beach was really nice, shame we couldn't enjoy it because it rained. We didn't see the Iberia lynx due to the weather. I do the think price is quite heavy, but it's one of the few we found available so not much you can do with that. The tour guide was great too. -
Very much enjoyed the National Park part of the tour. We drove in the large 4-wheel drive vehicle along the beach first. There were wild pigs and lots of interesting birds. We than visited some fishermen's houses and went into the woods. We saw some deer and wild pigs again. Then we drove through some interesting large sand dunes surrounding and covering up pine trees, while the guide explained how the dunes move across the landscape. I thought the park was fascinating for the flora and the fauna.
We then had lunch on our own at Matalascanas Beach which provided an opportunity to shop. Lunch was reasonable priced and good.
I was less interested iin El Rocio's church. The church is noted for a new large copy of a much smaller statue of the Virgin Mary found in a nearby field decades ago. The church is pretty, but not really remarkable.

This was an amazing small group trip, enjoyed by all, particularly my adult children. The national park tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and anxious to share his knowledge. We traveled via a Jurassic Park-like four-wheel-drive vehicle, through the sand dunes to see ocean/river, local color with the mussel fishermen and history. We saw lots of different birds and an amazing spider. Definitely off-the-beaten track and a break from city life. If you like the outdoors and are looking for something different, you will enjoy this trip. I would have appreciated a little more background about El Rocio (although most likely, we also could have specifically asked for this, but did not).
