  • Definitely worthwhile

  • Excellent hike for those with some experience and can climb a few flights of stairs and dont mind getting muddy. if I had to do over again I would have booked the trip with people I knew. You never know who shows up. I find peple who are late to booking times, really inconsiderate. its NOT all about you. That said, Alex was extremely considerate, well informed and prvovided fun for all. The swimming was great in the waterfalls. Saw some birds, snails, Coqui!! I would do it again. Boots or shoes with serious tread strongly advised.

  • Well worth the money. Be aware this is no leisure hike, especially back up hill. On the way down the morning rain made the rocks slippery and dangerous, however our tour guide alex was patient and gave great advice. We stopped at 2 waterfalls and alex said roundtrip is ~3miles.

  • It was an amazing hike. Alex our guide was very professional and knowledgeable and fun. It is not an easy hike, and I would recommend hiking boots. It is very slippery and muddy. Great hike, loved the waterfalls and trails. Highly recommend this hike.

  • We took this because it had great reviews. Alex picked us up at our hotel, he was great, very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. Our tour was exceptional, we saw absolutely no one else while on this tour. Swam in the rivers and waterfalls, you won't regret this tour, Alex will make it great!

  • This tour was amazing! It was probably the coolest part of our trip to Puerto Rico and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a unique way to explore El Yunque. When they say this tour is for the physically fit, they mean it. It involves a lot of climbing and walking over roots, rocks, and through water. Also if you are afraid of heights you might want to stay behind but if you think you can handle it then you should definitely do it. The restaurant that you eat lunch at is authentic Puerto Rican that you won't find in the tourist areas of San Juan, the food is delicious. Overall this was an amazing tour!!

  • This was absolutely an incredible tour!
Alex was great; very knowledgeable and very personable. He did his best to make sure that everyone made it in and out in one piece, and had a good time doing it. This was way outside my wife's comfort zone, but Alex helped her through the rough spots.

  • This was our third trip to El Yunque and it was the best! Our guide, Alex, was fantastic. He is not your average guide since he lives in the forest and studies it!. He also was responsible for opening the great trail and path we took to see the less busy areas of El Yunque. He was knowledgable, fun and patient with the various speeds of hikers. We are already looking forward to returning and going on another adventure with Alex!

  • Not enough words to describe how good this trip was, the transport, location and information received were outstanding, a special mention to Alex our guide who looked after our 11 year old at every step of the tour. As a family of 4 (13 yrs and 11yrs old) we loved it

  • Alex the Adventurer! What an amazing guy! Alex is extremely knowledgeable about El Yunque Rainforest and has NO FEAR! I am so happy my family and I was able to experience this.
I was pretty confident about booking this tour until the day before when I started reading a bit more about it and how physical it gets. I contemplated chickening out BUT I have three daughters whom would see me not try so there was no option. I was going to do it no matter what.
We were staying at Rio Grande so we met Alex and the rest of the tour at a local fruit market where I was allowed to park my car there. We got in a van and drove off. Alex gave us great information about the Rainforest. He knows it like the back of his hand. We hiked down. Initially I thought ok, not super strenuous. Its manageable. Then he says we havent even started level orange yet. I got a little nervous as I was already super-focused on my every step. The forest is BEAUTIFUL. So many different types of trees and ferns and bamboo. Just gorgeous. Alex made a very cool hat out of a tree leaf for my daughters.
Then it became a really messy sweaty best-thing-ever kind of a hike! I felt like I was living the life of Indiana Jones climbing rocks while holding on to tree vines, swimming in secluded waterfalls, and even riding the nature-made rock slides. Alex kept us motivated and focused, yet he taught us to seize the moment and enjoy nature at its best! I still cant believe I was able to do it! Alex, you gave my little family and I an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. You hold a special place in our hearts for that!
