Know More about this tour

This half-day tour takes you to a place held sacred by the Puerto Rican locals. According to ancient Indian legend, the good spirit Yuquiyu reigned at El yunque on his mighty mountain-top throne, protecting Puerto Rico and its people.
On this fascinating tour, you'll pass typical native towns before ascending through rapidly changing vistas of amazing vegetation to reach El Yunque. The rainforest is home to more than 240 species of plants and wildlife, waterfalls, streams, and hiking trails leading to enticing locations.
You'll see tree orchids, giant ferns, wild flowers, tropical hardwoods, and spectacular waterfalls while observing the panoramic views of the entire north-east coast. The tour stops for views of the most beautiful sights on this tour, so don't forget to bring your camera!

Our guide was delightful, organized and was extremely knowledgeable of the Puerto Rico and the rain forest. He provided history of the geology of the formation of the island, botanical information of the flora found in the rain forest, and the history of the island. He was a true ambassador of Puerto Rico and was a pleasure him as our guide.

The tour guide did an excellent job talking us to all of the popular spots in the rain forest. He was very knowledgeable regarding plants, but he took a little too long exploring flora in the parking lot before we even got started. I wish we could have spent a little more time hiking in the rain forest, instead of just driving from spot to spot.

Excellent tour. Enjoyed all of the information that Carlos shared about the rainforest and its history. Enjoyed every minute.

My five-year old loved this trip, which makes it great in my book. I would have liked more time in the rain forest, maybe a little more opportunity for walking around, but the guide was very knowledgable and provided great information.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at 3 places in the preserve. I would not recommend this trip because the preserve area is still not recovered from the horrible hurricane. While the 3 places we stopped were interesting, there was not enough to warrant spending one day of our vacation there.

On this tour you get to see the highlights of the rain forest, swim in the rive if you would like, sample authentic Puerto Rican food for lunch, and learn about animals and plants. Carlos was an informative tour guide, answered all questions and made things pleasant and interesting. This is a good way to see El Yunque.

Our guide Carlos was amazing! He made this trip special for us. This is a good quick trip for those on a tight schedule.

The description is inaccurate. This is basically a van ride. We expected trails and were told everything was closed. When you look on yelp people are hiking the forest and we were told we couldn’t. I would like a refund. We spent 5 days in PR and this was the only tour we took because the expense of doing more than one was to much for our family. The tour itself sucked. the company should be ashamed.

Agree with last reviewer. Highlight was lunch which we paid for!

As other reviews have said, the description of the tour provided on Viator does not match the actual tour. This was fine for me since my elderly mother was with us and can't do tons of walking. That said, the tour did feel a bit rushed. The tour guide told us we would have 30 minutes at each of the four stops: (1) the welcome center, (2) the observation tower, (3) the waterfall and (4) the lake but we definitely had less time at each. We had only finished viewing the 8 minute video at the visitor center when the tour guide told us it was time to get back on the bus. We felt similarly rushed at all of the three other stops. We arrived back to San Juan at 12:30 when we thought we would be getting back at 1:30 We were able to get some great pictures but wish we had more time. It was an play tour just not sure it was worth the price.

Arranged this trip for me and my grandparents (80 yrs old), and it was absolutely PERFECT! Tour guide was funny and friendly. Multiple stops were made so you can see various things, but no hiking which was perfect. Back by 1:30, so great use of the morning. Would definitely recommend for those wanting something like that.
