Overview
We will drive in my car for one hour to the mountain rail trail. We will pedal over viaducts, through tunnels, restored stations and see el a 400 year old oak tree which is the destination for a local pilgrimage of the Virgin of Fatima. We will visit the ornithological observation centre to observe the largest European colony of griffon vultures. Rest areas are there for us to relax and freshen up.Know More about this tour
We will go in my car to the start of the route in Olvera where we will take our mountain bikes (electric ones also available supplement 10). We will be 6 hours on the route which is very gentle and suitable for everyone.
We will pedal along the old railway, now a cycle track, as I explain all the secrets of the route. Ill tell you about its construction, history and surprising engineering as we go through long tunnels, over fantastic viaducts and through restored stations. Flora and fauna will be at the forefront and Ill take you to see el Chaparro de la Vega (a 400 year old oak tree) which is the destination for a local pilgrimage; well see the fighting bull in its natural meadow habitat; and Ill introduce you to Mara del Carmen, an expert ornithologist, who, by using special cameras, will show us one of the largest European colonies of griffon vultures at the Zaframagn outcrop and fascinate us with her expert explanations. Dont forget your camaras for those lifelong memories!
This is an activity which goes beyond a simple excursion to become a complete immersion in rural Andalucia.
