Departing Munich at 10am, you start your day with a visit to Zugspitze. This day trip takes you through directly into the foothills of the Alps and its green valleys. Passing the picturesque houses of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the bus climbs with you already the first altitude meters to the valley station of the Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany with 9,788 feet (2,962 meters). With the new cable car we will reach the mountain peak in a few minutes. After you have enjoyed the exhilarating view over 400 peaks in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, there is still enough time to strengthen yourself in the restaurant (vegetarian or halal available). Special fun in the summer prepares the free bobsleigh or hike on the eternal ice. The descent takes place with the historic Cogwheel train.

The Zugspitze was AMAZING! The guide - not so much. We started off at our meeting point - we just assumed it was our bus and there were several people just standing around, no signs, no real check in. It was a "get on the bus and I'll count you" kind of deal Well, as Peter was counting - more came on. He had to keep starting over. Peter NEVER stopped talking - at first it was kinda neat to get a lot of history, but when he constantly repeated himself for HOURS it got old. The Autobahn was shut down due to a train accident, so we had to take a detour - which was AMAZING! The country side was gorgeous! The trip itself was worth it - but the tour guide needed to stop talking.
It was a great experience. I would recommend this tour. The driver and the tour guide were great. I am good that everyone did had a great time.
Barbara was a great guide! She made sure that we got the most out of our excursion! The Currywurst at the glacier restaurant was really delicious!
Have a spare day in Munich? Then seriously consider taking a day trip to Zugspitze; Germany's tallest peak. Elisabeth our guide ticked many boxes; friendly, bilingual, very knowledgeable, and ensured cold beers were on the bus when we came off the mountain!! Be prepared for unpredictable weather, but even if snowing or sleeting the cable car and cog railway are worth it and the scenery is so quintessentially Bavarian. ..beautiful.
All trip and information was a new for me and my family, we enjoyed the cable car and the bus trip with all information given by Elezabith
Had an amazing day at Zugspitze with the wonderful Elizabeth! She was so helpful throughout the whole day and made everything easy to understand and made the whole group felt at ease with her sense of humour and patience. I can’t speak highly of her enough she really is a merit to your tour organisation! Thank you again Elizabeth!
