We were very disappointed with this tour. Our guide took
us to the first stop and ordered shrimp although there were
alternatives.We had stressed at the time of booking that my
wife's allergy is life threatening. When we explained that
my wife was allergic, he said just scrape it off the top. We
were then marched to another stop with no explanation as to
where we were going, why and the cultural significance of
the food. This continued until we requested we return to our
hotel.On past food tours, we have been treated as friends,
the food and why locals like to eat it explained to us. As a
result of this sort of tour, we felt like we had a better
understanding of the local people.This was definitely NOT
the case this time, we were left feeling unhappy and
disappointed.
