Shortly into the tour, the bus broke down leaving us waiting for a replacement. This cut out at least 30 minutes of daylight. Seeing the herds of elk was great, definitely the highlight of the tour. But, most of the wildlife was seen on the golf course - hardly a safari. The bus was full - hot and uncomfortable. Was this tour supposed to be about wildlife, or the real estate of Banff? - Eli made most of the tour about his own stories and real estate, rather than focusing on the wildlife - A distraction technique to shift the customers’ focus from the disappointment of the tour. Next time, I’ll drive myself up. Also, he never took us to Lake Minnewanka, like he said he would.

We were initially taken to an area with no wildlife, this area is on a busy road with lots of people pulling up as it's a view point. Not where I would expect wildlife to frequent. We spend too long travelling in the bus, the bus was also late. We did later see Elk but that was more by luck than judgement, sad to say we were disappointed with this trip

Amazing trip!!! We saw so many animals up close and in the distance. We ended up being out for 2 1/2 hours because we couldn’t leave the activity! Elk rutting season in full bloom!

We didn't get to see as many animals as we'd hoped, but we did get to see a few. The driver/guide was really good at spying the animals. He had a lot of great info on the animals in the area. He was also extremely helpful with some directions. He was telling us about his skiing addiction. We were having trouble figuring out what "ski area" to pick up the shuttle to the lakes the next day. He was able to give us directions to the shuttle place. It was a HUGE help!

Driver was fun however I guess I thought we'd drive up in the meadows and fields outside the city. We saw two goats up there. Most we saw on the golf course. Disappointed

I was a little nervous at first when our driver was not on time but no worries it was a full bus and Hugh did a super narrative! We saw elk, deer and black bear!

  • 22-Sep-2022

Hugh was very knowledgeable and had wonderful stories to tell. One criticism I have is we wasted 40 minutes driving to multiple hotels picking people up after the 5:15 - 5:30 pick up time at the Mount Royal hotel. It may Be a better plan to pick up the hotel guests first. Hugh did extend our tour the lost 30 minutes so that was greatly appreciated.

Use ‘Banff No Top Tours’ instead, better photo opportunities. They charged us but provided no service.

  • 15-Sep-2022

We didn’t see any wildlife on our tour. We had a very knowledgeable guide who did a great job. Pictures included were taken the prior day to our tour when we drove up to Mt Norquay on our own. 😂

Probably shouldn’t be called “wildlife safari” - more like an evening bus tour to surrounding parks etc ( do get nice view Banff ) . Saw some mountain goats but we saw them on regular bus tour and guide gave us high hopes of “black bears “ in carpark and “good chance we will see some “ but barely stoppped to look when we did get to the park , just did a quick and immediate u turn . It was more a pleasant enough evening tour around Banff surrounds.
