Beautiful butterflies, abundant bromeliads (air plants), fabulous ferns and gorgeous wildflowers, including at least seven different species of wild orchids blooming at various times of the year these are NOT the things that most people expect in the wilds of the Everglades! But these are some of the things that you may see on this easy-paced kayaking adventure with your the Florida-certified Master Naturalist guide. Of course, what Everglades experience would be complete, without seeing the Everglades most famous resident, the American Alligator? The unobtrusive stealth of our kayaks often affords us the opportunity to observe these iconic, magnificent creatures from a safe distance, yet close enough to take good pictures.

Know More about this tour

This tour provides morning and afternoon departures daily with a Florida Master Naturalist with decades of experience as your guide. One segment of this tour takes you into a mangrove forest. The green canopies of the mangroves form living tunnels of bromeliad and orchid covered branches and roots.

This is a learning experience for the entire family young and old. Many have remarked that taking this tour is like being inserted into a television nature documentary, except that everything is right in front of you to see, smell, and even touch. Throughout the trip, your guides will take the time to share their knowledge and experiences and encourage your involvement.

Four adults went on this tour. It was a fun motor boat ride around the Everglades and the kayak part was a wonderful bonus. Especially because we got to kayak far out in the park. Our guide was good, and was able to spot a wildlife to show us - birds, mullet, dolphins, turtles. It was great!!

Oh my goodness!! Captain Dan was fantastic!! Bald Eagle, bird rescue, “his” juvenile egrets, dolphins playing in the wake, and a small tooth sawfish!!! Plus the bonus of a recommendation of where to eat dinner. Coconut Jack’s did not disappoint!! Stuffed grouper-yum!!

Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. He gave us room for independence while still providing lots of great information. Beautiful area and experience. My family has been using this company for years. Never disappointed.

Our guide Don was incredibly knowledgeable, relaxed, and accommodating to our group. The wind was high but we saw lots of dolphins and went to Rabbit Key. Don gave an excellent lecture on shells. Then we went kayaking through mangroves. Fantastic time. Thank you!

Our trip guide Don was outstanding. We had a really enjoyable adventure, learned a ton about the marine life in this area and the history of the islands. Super job!

Ron was a great guide which made it easy and interesting despite the relatively big group size (12). We really got a good look at those alligators !

It was an experience we will never forget. Driving through mangroves was great but seeing so man alligators so close was breathtaking and amazing. The guide was great and very knowledgable

Jason was a fabulous guide. He holds a degree in biology and his knowledge of local geography & flora & fauna makes this tour particularly special. We saw dolphin, osprey (one flying a fish up to feed its new family), gorgeous blue heron, pelicans, a baby bald eagle in its nest, walked around a small beach island(saw shorebirds, shells, horseshoe crab shells, how to decipher a male by its hooks, oyster shell clusters, & learned about the different mangrove trees & saw how their spores or glands (depending on the type of mangrove) expressed salt from their leaves to absorb fresh water. We learned about local habitats that support both fresh and saltwater fish & alligators and crocodiles (the only place in the world that can do this!), and current challenges (i.e. surplus of racoons and pythons) and how they affect natural ecosystems (eating sea turtle eggs) & what is needed to keep these ecosystems in place and in balance. Wonderful tour!

My guide Don was very professional and knowledgeable. The highlight was the American White Pelicans.

Go with that tour and you won’t regret it! My boyfriend and I have had a wonderful time and won’t ever forget that beautiful tour into the Everglades with carter, who is a very well informed and friendly. Thank you for having us!
