Know More about this tour

Begin your walking tour of Lisbon at Restauradores Square, the perfect spot to hear a bit of Lisbon history. Your informative local guide will tell you about Portugal’s Restoration years and what effect this period had on the places you will see during your three- to four-hour tour.

Get on the move by exploring the magnetic neighborhood of Mouraria, a melting pot of cultures and one of the city’s most modern areas, where tourists don't often venture. Pass small churches, mosques and shops selling goods from far-away places. Learn about Fado, Portugal's own music genre that was declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, as you walk past the birthplace of the legendary Maria Severa (Fado’s first superstar).

Next, visit a small, hidden bakery where traditional pastries and coffee will provide you with a tasty treat and another insight into local life in Lisbon. Then, walk past the beautiful Gothic-style Rossio train station, visit Rossio Square (Lisbon’s main square) and find out how much the city has changed since the devastating earthquake of 1755 that destroyed 85 percent of the city.

Continue visiting historical landmarks, churches and other attractions before stopping again for a taste of Portuguese cheese and locally made marmalade. Then see the picturesque Carmo Square with its beautiful Carmo Convent, and walk up to the top of the famous Santa Justa funicular to enjoy wonderful views.

Walk through the trendy old district of Chiado, an aristocratic quarter home to small shopping centers, boutiques, historical cafes and old bookstores. Compare it with Barrio Alto, Lisbon’s bohemian district and the center for nightlife. Then take a short ferry ride on the River Tagus toward the picturesque Cacilhas, where Portuguese green wine and freshly caught seafood awaits. Enjoy magnificent views from the south bank before returning to central Lisbon.

  • An extremely interesting and informative tour. Sofia, our guide was knowledgeable and attentive. The food and wine tastings added to the experience making it a good introduction to the culture and customs of Lisbon and Portugal.
We highly recommend this tour and our guide.
    Thank you Sofia.

  • Nice historical walk, food and wine portions were very small. It would have been excellent if the portions of both food and wine were more ample, compared with other tours we have done.

  • We had a great guide and met some lovely people. The tour was really informative. I would highly recommend it because you see so many things you may have missed trying to get around by yourself.

  • It was great to learn more about Lisbon's history. The tour was 10am - 2pm and there were only 4 food/drink stops. I would have preferred a few more stops/food options considering the duration of the tour. I was expecting something a little more fast paced.

  • If you wanna see main attractions with historic explanations and get to taste good quality local food, this is NOT the one for you. It was more of an introduction to different areas in Lisbon. Egg tart was not good at all. Waste of time taking ferry boat to just taste a few snacks. Don’t expect much

  • Great guide who was full of knowledge! Walked and took the ferry to a number of different venues, tasting everything from custard tarts to seafood, besides port, beer and wine. Highly recommend it

  • Our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the area. We met a great group of people on the tour. Would highly recommend the tour of Lisbon. The tastings were all very good too. A morning well spent and it was lots of fun.

  • Great tour, interesting, informative.
    great guide Claudia super.

  • First, the group we chose had the most accommodating staff. We were late due to traffic from Fatima to Lisbon and when I called to inform them, I was met with a very pleasant voice telling me not to worry and theyll wait up. We arrived 15 minutes late and our tour guide, Rebecca, was a charming, funny and very nice young woman who puts everyone at ease.
The tour which started in RISTORADORES square and ended with a small meal in Casilhas there was a boat ride wasnt really the best except for Rebecca who made the tour interesting with anecdotes and stories about places we visited and some colorful personalities related to events in a place.
The places we visited were all very interesting but was rather long for someone with physical impediments or someone as lazy as I am.
The itinerary was well chosen and pretty interesting. The included pitischkos hope its spelled right, but it seems to be pronounced that way was rather miserable. The food and wine tasting included a shot of porto with a miniscule piece of bread topped with cheese and marmalade. Then a coffee or tea with a mini custard pie in a picturesque quaint bakery before climbing up MOURARIA. Upon reaching the top we had a glass of beer and we had a chance of taking photos of the beautiful scenery at our feet...
More walk...till we reached the port passing interesting squares and buildings along the way which our tour guide described and explained the history and some related stories regarding the place or the monuments...
Still, Id recommend this tour for anyone staying for a day in Lisbon. Next time we will take a more comfortable tour.

  • Love Lisbon! What a great energetic city. Enjoyed this tour and our tour guide. Saw parts of Lisbon we wouldn't have seen otherwise. However, it took almost 4 hours and easily could have been done in 2 - 2 1/2 hours. We took a half hour just getting started, then meandered slowly wherever we went.
