Know More about this tour

Begin your walking tour of Lisbon at Restauradores Square, the perfect spot to hear a bit of Lisbon history. Your informative local guide will tell you about Portugals Restoration years and what effect this period had on the places you will see during your three- to four-hour tour.

Get on the move by exploring the magnetic neighborhood of Mouraria, a melting pot of cultures and one of the citys most modern areas, where tourists don't often venture. Pass small churches, mosques and shops selling goods from far-away places. Learn about Fado, Portugal's own music genre that was declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, as you walk past the birthplace of the legendary Maria Severa (Fados first superstar).

Next, visit a small, hidden bakery where traditional pastries and coffee will provide you with a tasty treat and another insight into local life in Lisbon. Then, walk past the beautiful Gothic-style Rossio train station, visit Rossio Square (Lisbons main square) and find out how much the city has changed since the devastating earthquake of 1755 that destroyed 85 percent of the city.

Continue visiting historical landmarks, churches and other attractions before stopping again for a taste of Portuguese cheese and locally made marmalade. Then see the picturesque Carmo Square with its beautiful Carmo Convent, and walk up to the top of the famous Santa Justa funicular to enjoy wonderful views.

Walk through the trendy old district of Chiado, an aristocratic quarter home to small shopping centers, boutiques, historical cafes and old bookstores. Compare it with Barrio Alto, Lisbons bohemian district and the center for nightlife. Then take a short ferry ride on the River Tagus toward the picturesque Cacilhas, where Portuguese green wine and freshly caught seafood awaits. Enjoy magnificent views from the south bank before returning to central Lisbon.

  • This tour was fantastic! Our tour guide Sofia Landeiro was excellent and so helpful! We learned so much about the history of Lisbon and Portugal from her which was so interesting! The combination of trying food, port, walking, taking the ferry and learning was perfect. I highly recommend this tour!

  • Interesting and informative tour guided by a Lisbon native! Certainly off the beaten track and avoided most of the more obvious tourist attractions whilst giving a great context to Portuguese history and Lisbon's culture. The food and drink were varied and well spread out along the tour and even the odd downpour what do you expect in January! added to the 'urban adventure'. We were a smallish group of 5 and our guide took into account the differing interests of those with us. I can thoroughly recommend this tour both for its variety and for its lack of 'ordinary'. It gave us a great overview of Lisbon and its people and helped us get our bearings for the rest of our stay.

  • Great tour, great guide, great experience! Must do!

  • Excellent possibility to walk through Lisbon with brilliant guide and taste traditional Portuguese food and wine.

  • A beautiful city like this needs to be experienced by foot and by someone that can share its history and secrets. This tour did just that. The food provided in the tour, whilst not substantial, was good enough but to discover parts of the city that you may not have found on your own unless it was by happy accident was worth the price.

  • Worth every penny. Our guide was terrific! We could not have asked for a better way to begin our short visit to Lisbon. It really helped us get our bearings.

  • This is a fantastic Tour. Margarida, our guide, is so knowledgeable and passionate about Lisbon that you could not fail to also fall in love with Lisbon.
All of the food and drink included in the tour was delicious and we had great fun.
When we go back to Lisbon we will definitely be booking other tours with this company

  • Very Small group! Tour was the prefect amount of walking with breaks. Learned a lot of history within the old city and walked off the beaten path. It was a lot of things i would have never thought to look for or would have missed if we didn't have a guide. The tastings were awesome. A lot of traditional food and drinks. We had three small children on this tour who enjoyed it as well. Sophie was very knowledgeable and friendly! Very accommodating with the children!

  • Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was amazing. Would recommend this tour
