Overview
Our main goal is to connect science and tourism by providing wildlife watching boat tours while we collect data for scientific research.During this tour you will have the chance to learn more about our local fauna and get to know how we are studying these animals.
Itinerary:
Explore the Atlantic in search of marine wildlife with Marine Biologists on board, and learn more about dolphins in their natural habitat. Discover different species of cetaceans, birds and other marine life in an exciting experience in the Algarve ! Departing from Faro, you will be able to enjoy the landscape of Ria Formosa Natural park while we cruise towards the Atlantic ocean. When outside, the guides will look out for different wildlife, specially for cetaceans! There are great chances to see dolphins like the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) or the Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis) and if your are lucky we can even spot Orcas or whales. During this trip you will also be able to spot different species of marine birds like the Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus), Shearwaters and Storm Petrels! It is also common to see some other animals such as the Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola), Atlantic Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus) and some species of sharks or marine turtles. After spotting a group of cetaceans, our team of Marine biologists will provide information about the animals and also collect data for research before we head back to Faro.

My friend and I went dolphin watching with guides Pedro and Susanna. Our expectations were managed from the beginning that we may not see anything, however with the knowledge of our guides, we soon encountered a family of dolphins. Pedro's knowledge and communication about the marine life in general was fantastic and overall, I'd do this activity again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this.

Amazing! We did the Sunset dolphin watching tour with Alfredo and Meghan :) We saw a group of orcas numerous times! Alfredo's enthusiasm and love for the animals was contagious, he was really knowledgeable and you could see he enjoyed the sightings as much as us. They have a very good sensibility for the wildlife protection and try their best to make the tours respectful and safe. Will come again to watch the whales!

Susanne and Pedro did an amazing Job! We were 8 tourists and had a small boat. They explained all about the trip and realistic expectations- they will try their best but cannot force wild animals to show up. Pedro also shared lots of his knowledge as biologist and explained ecosystems and animal characteristics and behavior- also some negative und effects by us humans and how to minimize that. It was very enlightening! We were lucky and saw a big family of dolphins, then briefly the very shy porpoises and then a smaller group of dolphins hunting and jumping. It was an awesome natural experience with very kind guarding and respect for the animals, I would book that tour again and again!

Great trip with Pedro and Susanna. Pedro is a very enthusiatic and knowledgable guide / biologist. We chose Ocean Vibes because they offer responsible dolphin watching with respect for nature and wildlife. We saw a big family of bottlenose dolphins and stayed with them for about 30 minuttes. The dolphins were very curious and swam close to the boat. Great experience. The trip is highly recommandable.

This was an incredible experience. We were guided by Pedro, who was knowledgeable, engaging, and humorous. The ride was smooth and we saw lots of dolphins, including 2 babies! It has been the highlight of our trip learning about their work and research. We would gladly do this again!

They are conscious of their presence in the wildlife’s home and will only approach the animals if their reaction and behaviour suggests they are comfortable. Very well organised and informative tour by the enthusiastic and friendly Pedro and Susana. We were able to find two dolphin groups, turtles and even a hammerhead shark. The tour in a small group was done very professionally and with the absolute respect for the animals. It was a great experience, which we can highly recommend!
