Thanks this was an amazing experience. I would definitely go back. You get so much tapas for your money and drinks. Was filling and the show was amazing.
The show was fantastic; however, the food was terrible. Only two choices for dinner, fish or roast beef; nearly everyone in our group chose roast beef and it was not edible (everyone left untouched) - it was almost leathery.
It would be 1-star if not for the great performers.
We booked the show with a Tapas meal. The tapas was fine but the show was a disaster. We actually joked and said that the reserve dancer team was on duty. The show was amateurish and not rehearsed. It was almost as if they made it up as they went along. When one of the dancers tried to make a dance move with the chair, which totally flopped, the other dancers burst out in laughter. The show was so short that when they finished everyone sat around waiting for the next dance, only to realize that that was it...We have seen better Spanish dance shows in South Africa. This show was a totally waste of time and money and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone
Our party of 6 spent the evening at Tablao de Carmen for a 3 course dinner and a Flamenco show. Before the show we browsed the many shops in this beautiful Poble Espanol Architectural museum and purchased some local souvenirs. The show was outstanding, as was the food. The setting was small enough to experience the show up close. Very enjoyable evening!
The show was amazing , however food for us was not to our taste. Location and view of the show from any seat is great
My female friend and I attended a Flamenco dinner show at Tablao de Carmen. Although, it wasn't my first time experiencing a Flamenco dinner show in Spain, I wanted my friend to have a memorable experience as a first timer. Tablao de Carmen is nestled in the gypsy quarter of Barcelona and my friend and I had an interesting time searching for it...basically we followed a group of ladies dressed flamboyantly to the event. We were greeted with a strong pitcher of Sangria and delicious entrantes and primo platos. At this show, there were two musicians, one main singer, three female Flamenco dancers and one male Flamenco dancer. They each had their own styles and interpretations of the dance...ranging from gracefully tender to intensely passionate. It was a wonderful experience...highly recommended. My friend sat in her chair in awe! The food was satiating...
This was such a special night for us. The story of Tablao de Carmen the the owner Mimo shared with us was so heartfelt. We felt very welcomed and were treated like old friends. The dancers were fantastic we never had such fun. Clapping and cheering from the audience. Our seats were perfect and the dinner very good especially the wine. I would say if you want a traditional flamenco experience and traditional Spanish cuisine don’t miss this place. It is not touristy at all I really felt like we were the only tourists there. An authentic experience.
Also this venue is located in a special place Pueblo Espanyol which has artists creating beautiful things to sell and lots of things to see and a museum to explore. We came back the next afternoon and spent a few hours do that and it was great no crowds and very peaceful. Had a great lunch too! Check it out you want be disappointed
The show was fabulous! The only disappointment was that the dancers did not use castanets.
The Sangria, the croquettes, the fish dinner, and desserts were delicious. The only negative was the roast beef dinner. The staff was tremendous and amicable. Worth the experience!
We booked a 6:00 pm show at Tablao de Carmen on September 11th. Unfortunately, it was also National Catalonia Day and most of the roads were closed and the taxi wasn't able to get us to the location. When I called to let them know my dilemma, they were understanding and let us come to a later show. Once we got there the tapas was more than sufficient and I am so glad we didn't get the dinner, the show was very good and we had an enjoyable evening.
Amazing evening with talented Flamenco artists...the location is superb too. The singers had great powerful voice... Overall the trip was perfect and worth a visit
