Know More about this tour

This amazing tour starts at a conveniently located ranch in the heart of Bavaro. All passengers will receive pre-tour instructions about the safety and operation of the vehicles. Guests will be driving their own automatic“caravan-style” buggy following the tour guide who will lead the group.
The "Flintstones Buggy Trail" has a length of 10 kilometers and takes you through a variety of vegetation and rock/hill-formations. The trial leads straight through the countryside where you can see donkeys, cows, horses, sheep and pigs!
After about 25 minutes of driving the tour has its first stop at a typical Dominican house and the local “colmado” (a small grocery store) where participants can taste some real Dominican coffee and cocoa. Immerse yourself into the Dominican culture as you join locals from the countryside doing their daily shopping. No one will ask you to buy anything but if you need some food or local products you can take advantage as they of the really cheap prices!
Around 20 minutes later the tour will continue off-road and you will be surrounded with simply breathtaking views. You'll travel past colorful houses and across the amazing landscape of banana plantations and farmland. This is the true Dominican Republic! Here the trail gets even more "rough" and "wild" and there are some spectacular views of the "cliffs" that have been formed over millions of years.
The tour continues until the arrival at the “Cave of Fantasy”! First we enter the cave and walk almost to the end through magnificent and huge illuminated stalactites and stalagmites. You will learn about the legend of the “Hidden Princess” and all of her secrets! This is not a public cave so it is accessible only to your tour. It is a 100% authentic experience! In the cave you will feel the bumps and uneven surface of the path. There have been minimum changes made to the cave so that it keeps its natural authenticity and beauty.
After exploring "Fantasy Cave", you will go up the stairs to Bedrock City! Bedrock City is another group of caves that are located above the large cave, a rare combination and therefore, very unique! Why the name Bedrock City? Well, here you see the villa of Fred Flintstone, the garage with the Flintstone Mobile and much more.
After around 35 minutes spent inside the cave it will be time to go back. With the sun in your face and the wind in your hair, you will drive your open-air dune buggy back to the ranch. Here the guests will have the opportunity to buy the pictures from the excursion and other souvenirs or enjoy a Dominican-flavored drinks at the bar.

  • This was fun but very very bumpy. The tires don't absorb any of the bad road conditions. The tour guides were fun and courteous through the whole trip. They did take us to a very large cave. The best I've seen in quite some time.

  • This was a great ride it had rained al morning so good and sloppy ride on the back trails .....Seen how local folks live and survive in this country .......

  • I liked this tour ALOT! The guide was awesome, he referred to me as Booker T from WWE because of my hair. We did the mudding with the dune buggy and also drove by the country side and got to see the locals who were waving to us as we drove by. We also walked through the cave and swung from a vine which was awesome!

  • My bestie and I were the only ones that signed up for this tour so we had a personal guide! GREAT! Bring your own bandana and shades to cover your eyes or you will need to purchase from them. Stops included a local cook house and ancient cave. Very relaxed tour since we could take our time since just us. Plenty of children along the road waving for change as you drive by so if you want to have dollars to toss along the road, they love it, as you cant stop.

  • We had a great time on this excursion. Our guides were super nice and made this trip fun! I would recommend doing it! Be sure to bring clothing that u don’t mind throwing away. We got so muddy since it rained on our way back.

  • OMG!!!! this trip was AMAZING !!!!!!!!! We had so much fun and got dirty ,which was the best part of being on these type of trips . The tour guide was awesome ... EVERYONE should do this trip when they visit DR.

  • One of the most reasonably priced excursions in Punta Cana. Driver picked us up at 7:45 am and drove to pick up 3 other groups at various hotels. Arrived to the location and there was some confusion if anyone in the group spoke Spanish none did, but the tour guide did fine communicating with us in English so not sure why we spent so much time on that. When I booked, I was told I would be given a bottle of water and a bandana. That didn't happen but those things were for sell in the gift shop. Luckily I brought my own water and bandanas. Only encountered a few mud puddles since the rain came later that day, but still ended up very dirty by the end. Stopped at the authentic house for a 20-30 minute well-needed break and had coffee. Continued to cave where you will get your exercise so wear good shoes! By the time we made it to the Flintstones area of the cave, everyone seemed over it and didn't even take pictures. Only complaint is that we have some slow drivers in the group that held things up causing the guide to have to stop along the way so couldn't really get the fun of speeding through the roadway.

  • Great time! Caves where really fun. Plan to get very dirty! Dress accordingly with comfortable tennis shoe for stairs and rocks in the caves!

  • I booked via Viator.

Experience: over 6 miles of driving on private dirt roads - not a vendor in sight, no kids running next to you trying to sell you anything unlike the other dune buggy excursions around. After being picked up in an open truck, got to the ranch, went through safety tips and rules, got our helmets, and a quick demo of how to drive automatic buggies. It was only 3 groups of us 3 buggies, but they had 1 leading buggy and 1 buggy trailing mechanic - although none of our buggies faced any issues. We drove FAST. Super bumpy and it rained a little the night before so there were some mud holes.

Our first stop was at a dominican house - we got to sample coffee, see the garden, home, chickens. Not a vendor spot - just a local home.

Second stop was at a natural cave - a little bit of hiking inside, but very cool to see. The cave leads to Bedrock City - the Flinestone's portion of the tour - a trip down memory lane for replica Flinestone's home and something for the kids.

Then we drove all the way back to the ranch. If you are looking for a private, safe, fun, adreneline pumping dune buggy experience, this is it. Highly recommend it. Our tour guide Ivan was awesome and funny.

Only downside was the pickup time was that its not stated clearly stated in your booking confirmation. Only advice is to make sure you have a clear understanding of what time you will be picked up from the hotel. I tried calling while in DR, but i think the quickest and best response was via email. Email them after you book for your pickup time.

But still a great experience and highy recommend it.

  • This was an awesome experience! My husband and I really enjoyed it! Driving and riding in the buggy was fun. We drove to a local house, where we were able see how many locals live day-to-day. We also went on a guided cave tour. I would highly recommend this buggy adventure! Make sure you bring your own glasses and bandana, otherwise you'll pay triple the price once you arrive. Expect to get dirty. I think we were extra dirty, because my husband was speeding over a water/dirt puddle.
