I already wrote a long critique and couldn’t submit it. Should tell you something.

Ok, more than 100 characters. You left us stranded in Rome without a ride to my hotel. Had to take a taxi. Driver had no “time” left on his clock. I think he wasn’t getting paid after a certain time? Not nice to leave people stranded. Not very professional. Find yourself a different tour company that’s more reliable.

Overall the trip was ok. A person should know that the bus ride to and from Florence takes close to 4 hours each way. The guides were ok but run through the tour very quickly. Also there is a lot of walking.

My review mirrors that of Robert L from April 2018 below. I thought Florence was fantastic, however, I would have been much better suited traveling to Florence outside of Green Line Tours. The 3 hour plus drive to and from Florence was fine. A stop at a rest stop is taken both to and from. Upon arriving in Florence, you walk about 15 minutes to the Galleria dell'Accademia where you meet a new guide. She was great. You spend about an hour or so in the museum which is all you really need. You then do a 45 minute or so walk through Florence seeing some of the highlights of the city. Unfortunately, you do not actually go inside any of the Cathedrals, but just walk passed them The lunch was not that great. You spend well over an hour at lunch which I think was a poor use of the limited time you have. The leather making shop was a joke. You go to a store, where someone gives a sales pitch on jewelry and constantly reminds you of how much of a discount you have for coming with Green Line Tours. Then there is a similar shtick for the leather goods. Maybe 2 minutes at most on how leather was made. There was an hour of free time which I wish was longer.

Don't miss Florence!!!! Be advised tho that the bus trip is 3 hours there and 3 hours back. Tour guide was great and lunch delicious. True about the drop off, you may be dropped off at the Metro so be sure you know how to get home from there.

It was truly an amazing day!

Green Line Tour booked thru Viator
1 Guide Marina, barely spoke English and even though we had no French speakers on the tour she insisted on giving all talks in English, Spanish and French
2 Rome to Florence driver Luca, paid way to much attention to his phone and Ecig while driving
3 Florence guide was excellent and answered our many questions graciously
4 We spent 45-60 min in a gold and leather shop. That time would have been much better spent in the museum
5 No maps provided so that we could use free time wisely
6 Return driver kindly gave us directions back to our hotel, which the guide would not.

My criticism's are aimed at this particular Green Line tour, not Florence.
Florence was amazing, as was our local guide. It has been a life long wish to see the statue of David, and it exceeded my expectations

This bus trip was well worth it. The bus ride through the Italian countryside was awesome. The tour guide on the bus was pleasant and informative. The tour guide in Florence was knowledgeable and got us into the Academia Museum quick and there were not a lot of people. The walking tour of Florence was informative and pleasant. The lunch we had was perfect and was at a small family owned restaurant. We do have one issue we stay at ABNB's when we travel, we like having bigger accommodations with full kitchens. We paid for being picked up and being dropped off. When we tried to arrange this, the tour operator said they only went to hotels. We were under the impression that they picked up and dropped off at larger hotels. We had to find our way to the tour operators office in the morning. Then they dropped us off at a Metro station, 4 stopped from Cipro. instead of somewhere close to the flat we were renting. Our flat was close to the Vatican by the Metro station Cipro. 3 Other guests were dropped off prior to us being dropped off at the Metro. What annoyed us was the 3 people being dropped off were at small hotels located in more remote locations then where we were staying. When it came to the drop off we felt like second class guests. We paid for a service we did not receive and were treated as if it was a burden to drop us off.
