Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in central Florence, and then set off on your leisurely paced walking tour, visiting several specialty food shops around town while learning about Tuscany’s gastronomic heritage. The region’s love affair with food and wine is founded on a deep respect for its produce, where raw materials – such as juicy plump Tuscan olives – have been nurtured for centuries.
Start with a visit to a delicatessen that specializes in foraging and selling truffles, one of the region’s highly prized natural ingredients. Sip on a glass of zesty crisp prosecco (the Italian’s answer to Champagne) and soak up the bubbles with a panino tartufato – a delicate pâté sandwich seasoned to perfection with slivers of the gourmet fungi.
Stroll to an artisan chocolate shop nearby and treat your sweet tooth to a chocolate-tasting session. Savor silky-soft nuggets of the sweet treat, noting the rich flavors present in high-quality chocolate, and then head out of the shop to visit an olive oil boutique.
Popular with locals and visitors alike, the high-end shop specializes in the sale of quality Tuscan olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Sit down for a tasting with the shop's charming owner and learn about the different varieties of fruity and piquant oils on offer.
Take a wander along the pretty cobblestone alleyways that make up the backstreets of the city, and stop for a gelato from a locally loved gelateria before winding up inside a wine bar. Sip on a glass of Chianti – one of Tuscany’s typically robust and tannic reds – and nibble on chunks of warm focaccia bread to finish your foodie adventure.

  • I was the only person who had signed up for this tour, so the tour company contacted me and asked if I wanted to move to a wine tasting tour later that same day. I said that was no problem. And, I'm glad I did!

Linda, from the tour company Urban Adventures was so warm and wonderful! Made everyone feel at home as we walked the streets of Florence tasting food and wine.

    Would definitely recommend this tour!

  • We absolutely loved this tour..... Lucca, our guide took us all around Florence, to many of the shops where we could sample everything from truffle sandwiches to prosecco, gelato, all the delicacy meats and different wines of the region...... Everything we tasted was delicious and Lucca was incredibly
Knowledgeable and charismatic..... We highly recommend this tour..... Ask for Lucca he answered all of our questions with great enthusiasm and was the perfect host......

  • We had an amazing guide - Luca- thank you Mille!! If you enjoy and appreciate food then you will absolutely love it! Our 12 year old daughter loved it!

  • Nice walking tour in Florence trying a lot of different kinds of really good food and drinks. Going back to the same places on my next visit to Florence. A trip I already booked.

  • Guide was not passionate about anything. Not that many foods to taste waste of money really would not recommend

  • Interesting experience. We tried authentic food: cold cuts, chocolates, truffle sandwiches, gelato. Everything artisan made. Very special. Luca is a great tour guide. Highly recomended

  • Gemma was wonderful! Her knowledge, kindness and happy disposition was a terrific! Loved ALL the foods and shops especially the authentic butcher shop Alimentari Uffizi ! Highly recommend for anyone wanting a delicious, fun and informative stroll through the streets of Florence. Thank you Gemma! Martina

  • Great tour. We were shown good places, saw a bit of the city we'd likely not see and met great people while enjoying the food and wine!

  • If you want to get an abbreviated walking tour, history lesson, and food combined in to one I highly recommend this tour! We loved all of the places our tour guide, Francesca, took us to. She was wonderful to talk to and grew up in Florence so she was able to give us cultural and history lessons as we walked through the city, not to mention neat things about the specific areas we went to...none of which were tourist spots. Our first stop was for wine, meat, bread, and cheeses all cured or made in-house of course in a historical building. Then we went to a very cool bakery and got to sample several different pizzas and treats, then to have wine and truffles, then to have real gelato where we learned how to spot the fake and not-fresh gelato. Our favorite part was going to the small shop where we got to taste test balsamic vinegars from different years as well as truffle oils. The shop was very cute with lots of neat things to purchase such as oils, and all handmade items from Italy. The owner or the person doing the taste-test was great and informative and it was such a neat experience! Tour stayed on-time but only one location had a restroom...so use it when you can and we were glad to get the information on each location so we could come back.

  • The walking food tour was wonderful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us some interesting insight into Florence history. Food was wonderful
