Know More about this tour

Heidelberg Half-Day Trip (9:30am - 3pm): Start your combo tour with a trip to Heidelberg in the morning. Board a luxury coach in central Frankfurt and travel approximately 50 miles (80 km) south to the lovely city of Heidelberg, often described as Germany's most beautiful city.

Heidelberg will greet you with its lovely Renaissance buildings framed by vibrant green hills lining the River Neckar. Perched above the city is Heidelberg Castle, which you’ll visit first. Seeing these famous castle ruins will undoubtedly be a highlight of your half-day trip!

Your guide will show you the evocative castle’s many styles of German architecture and its interesting artifacts, including the incredible wine barrel that is stored within the castle ruins. Reputedly the largest in the world, the Heidelberg wine barrel can hold more than 51 gallons (193 liters) of wine.

Enjoy panoramic views over Neckar Valley from the castle before descending into the city of Heidelberg for a walk around its medieval Old Town. Visit the notable Old Bridge (Karl Theodor Bridge), Church of the Holy Spirit and House of the Knights with its impressive Renaissance facade and small lanes with half-timbered houses.

Then, relax on the 1-hour drive back to Frankfurt for the second portion of your combo tour.

Frankfurt City Tour (4:30pm - 6:30pm): When you arrive back in Frankfurt, board a double-decker bus for a narrated sightseeing tour, which shows you the diversity of this historic yet modern metropolis.

First, visit to the Romer town hall. Built in the 15th century, the Romer is one of Frankfurt's most important historic buildings, once the site of celebrations during the elections and coronations of emperors.

Cruise through the modern European banking center, where you'll see the tall skyscrapers that dominate the city's skyline. See the European Central Bank/Eurotower, the Stock Exchange and Goethe House, the former home of 18th-century literary genius Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe.

Hop off the bus for a leisurely walk around the historic heart of the city. Your guide will point out the noteworthy architecture of St Paul's Church and Frankfurt Cathedral (Gotischer Kirchturm).

Back aboard the bus, visit the Hauptwache, a Baroque plaza surrounded by modern buildings. Pass the Zeil shopping center, see the Old Opera House, and view the big towers of the former city wall. Your tour ends at the original departure point in the evening.

  • Adrian was good tour guide. He took us to Heidelberg castle which as wonderful. Very nice place to visit. Also downtown Heidelberg was great. There are many shops and eating places there. Sausage was delicious. I would recommend this trip if you have time in Frankfurt and looking for thing to do and William for Frankfurt City tour also nice, it was small group and he Q and A many things about Germany, so it was very interesting. We got to ask so much about Frankfurt and it history, we really enjoyed it. And some part of tour, we got ride on hop-on and hop-off all to ourself. Combination for these trip it was definitely money well spend. Got to know Frankfurt pretty well.

  • It was an enjoyable day, filled with history. It would have been nice to have more time exploring the Old Town of Heidelberg on our own. Our tour guide, Adrian, only allotted about 40 minutes for us to explore it and it was rushed.

  • Excellent tour guide for the Heidelberg tour. Very well organized. We enjoyed the sights. The 2-hour Frankfurt part of the tour was cancelled so we went on the Hop On-Hop Off tour which we could have done earlier in the day had we known about it. Both of these tours are worth the time and cost.

  • Bus was old and filthy and it smelled bad. The manager at the location was extremely rude.

  • The Heidelberg part was amazing Natalie the tour guide was Fantastic She made the tour wonderful Ask for her by name
But the Green Lines tour company cancelled our afternoon city tour because we wrere the only two who had booked it and I think they should not do it and they owe us an apology

  • The first part of the tour was great. We drove out to Heidelberg and was guided through the castle and city of Heidelberg. When we got to Frankfurt, we drove by landmarks from the van, not the open sightseeing bus. We didn and #39;t stop at any points of interest either. Then we were dropped off at 3pm.

  • it was a very nice tour and the guide was really good and funny

  • It was a fantastic experience for the first half. The Heidelberg tour guide was very good and she gave us some very good information and despite it being very cold and snowing we enjoyed this part of the tour tremendously.
For the City Tour they just put us on the Hop on Hop off bus which was not the greatest. The sound track was poor and all in all not much fun.

  • Great trip. I had a day to spare at Frankfurt so this made perfect sense. Both tour guides Heidelberg/Frankfut were friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. They engaged everyone in the group really well. It was time well spent.

  • Both activities, Heidelberg half-day trip and Frankfurt City tour, were great. Both guides were very accommodating too. It was just the direction indicated on the voucher as its shortcoming. The direction was a total incomplete. They only indicated near main entrance of the Frankfurt Central Station. They should also include landmarks such as nearby hotels Hotel Continental and Le Meridien Park Hotel or take right across main entrance of the Central Station. The direction was really vague. Good thing, there is a Tourist Information Office before exit of the main entrance of the Central Station. Because of their help, I was able to locate the meeting/departure point.
