Overview

Perth's waterfront precinct of Fremantle or Freo, as it's known to the locals is utterly enchanting. In its curving, colonial-era streets you'll find al fresco dining, street art and quirky locals who love busking.

Perfectly suited for discovery on foot, our self-guided audio tour allows you to set the pace and explore at your leisure as you uncover the stories of this exciting city.

To discover this fascinating city in your own time and at your own pace just download this self-guided audio tour, pop in your headphones, open the map that comes with your download and start walking.

You will learn about Fremantle's colorful convict history, army and wartime ties, rich maritime past, and some of the people responsible for blazing the trail so Freo could be what it is today - a vibrant epicentre of culture and an efficient port, putting this secluded corner of Australia at the worlds fingertips.

Please note that this tour is only available in English.

I downloaded the app as suggested but it kept shutting down after a minute or so. I was then able to download the individual files - but this took some time and I suggest doing it before leaving your hotel etc while connected to wifi. There is lots of content but some is out of date eg footbridge overpass from the passenger terminal is closed and it’s a bit of a walk to get back on route. Overall very informative.

Very good info - delivery a bit too fast on one of two occasions - by the time I had located the feature she was giving info on, she had already moved onto the next feature! Very clear instructions on where to go next. We saw a lot and learnt a lot about Fremantle. And you can stop and have refreshments whenever you want!!

I bought 3 x tours so everyone could listen but only I could access . The other 2 friends kept getting messages saying bitley blocked. So we all had to try to listen with audio on my device.
