It was so noisy we could barely hear our guide. We had small bites of various foods but it was deep fried. But we learned a lot about th history of NO
Elizabeth provided and enjoyable afternoon of touring different restaurants and shops. She is very knowledgeable in the local history and the cooking styles oft the various restaurants in the French Quarter. We received our fill of food and good times during the fun filled afternoon. Thanks.
To explore the hidden wonders, history and excitement of the French Quarter with a fun local was like linking arms with an old friend. With Naïf we not only tasted the key NOLA delights but learned the significance of ethnic spices, ingredients and folklore in hidden courtyards, iconic dining rooms and secret passageways. We never would have gained entry to these places on our own. Hit Muriel’s Gallery for an afterglow drink overlooking Jackson Park — Naif’s great recommendation! Simply magical. Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this tour. Susanne was our guide and she was very knowledgeable. The food we got to try was awesome. I had a great time and would highly recommend it.
Nafe was an excellent guide showing us behind the scenes at several great restaurants, delicious samples of food, and interesting information. An all-round great experience well worth the time.
This was a nice little behind-the-scenes culinary history tour. We got to see some really great gowns and relics from Mardi Gras celebrations of days gone by, we had a little session on the spices and flavors used in Creole and Cajun cooking, and of course, we got to taste many of the foods that make New Orleans of the best best foodie cities!
The tour is an excellent combination of eating local favorites and learning about the place they are prepared. The pace is easy but never dull. The tour guide made sure there were places to sit at each stop, something which is not always done. My wife and I are glad we took the tour.
The tour was educational. Tours live and die by their guides and this guy (naïf), “you’re safe with Naïf” knew his history, and the history of most of the people we met along the way. Food was all good but lost a point for only red beans at one stop and only gumbo at another.
Enjoyed Naïf, our guide a lot. Very interesting and delicious tour. Talk about good!
Our tour guide Annette was enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and a good storyteller. The group size of 12 was comfortable and it was easy to hear her at all times. We visited tujagues, antoines, arnauds, Leah's pralines and creole delicacies. We sampled a po' boy, rice and beans, turtle soup, shrimp with remoulade sauce, a praline and seafood gumbo. The portions were small but satisfying. We learned the history of the food, the traditions and the oldest restaurants in New Orleans. We toured the historic restaurants as well. It was a fascinating and delicious 3 1/2 hours. There was time to shop at a couple of the stores. It was a good balance of walking and sitting.
