Know More about this tour

Begin your bike tour by meeting your guide and getting your bike and helmet at about 9:15am. All guides can speak English and Spanish. Depart to the Bellavista neighborhood, a center for street art and nightlife with many restaurants, discotheques, and bars. You will be introduced to the work of controversial poet Pablo Neruda, and then learn about the world's fourth largest metropolitan park. Continue through the bustling commercial neighborhood of Patronato and enter the noisy, colorful markets.

Take a 1.5-hour break from your tour to enjoy lunch (own expense). Next, ride through three of the dozens of Satiago parks. You will see the way Santiaguinos relate with parks and to how young people make use of them. After this green ride, visit a magnificent Cultural Centre, that once was the symbol of socialism in Chile and later turned into symbol of the Pinochet dictatorship.

After learning about the facts and events that led to the military coup, you'll ride downtown to the Government Palace for all the details on how the military took over the government, what happened during the dictatorship, and the repercussions for contemporary Chilean society. Afterwards, you'll return to the departure point using one of the numerous bike trails in the city. Your tour will end at about 5:30pm.
