relax in the thermal spring pools enriched by natural mineral salts in the shaded rainforest. You'll be amazed by how this experience which lasts a few minutes will remain in your head after many years. Ideal for bathing and soothing aching muscles.
Locals call this place “Sa Morakot” which means Emerald pool. The Emerald Pool Krabi is located in the forest of Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve in Khlong district, about an hour drive from Krabi town. The Emerald pool or pond is fresh and cool with the water supplied from natural streams coming from the hill. The cool thing about this place is that when the water’s temperature changes, the water color goes from light green to turquoise! The pool is not that big, around 100 square meters and about 2 meters deep depending on the season too. If you’re traveling with your kids, remind them that the water isn’t drinkable! Make sure to also bring towels as there are no changing rooms.
Walk through Thung Theo jungle while the guide will provide you details on the plants and its biodiversity, one of the last major area of lowland rainforest left in Thailand
Climb up the stairs to discover the unique view from the top of the mountain. The tiger cave temple is rich in culture and is a meditation center for monks. Surrounded by caves and 1000 years old trees, the tiger cave temple is far the place where you will have the best view of all Krabi.

Expect all experiences to be short lived and prompt. Bathing in the thermal spring was very relaxing: 15 minutes was spent here. As we were picked up late the tour skipped the rubber plantation. Next we discovered the crystal, emerald and blue spring which is well worth the trek, it is very beautiful: No time to swim here if you walk to the blue pool. Lunch was filling and excellent. Next up was the tiger temple. If you decide to climb to the top, be prepared with a reasonable amount of fitness in the time slot allocated, again not enough time given but well worth the trek. Overall happy with the experience.

The tour was well organized. We were picked up on time at our hotel. The tour guide was extremely friendly. The Emerald pool was gorgeous. But the best was a walk up the rain forest trail to see the blue pool, a treat for the eyes. Highly recommend it.

Quite an interesting tour but our tour guide was difficult to understand, gave minimal information and unclear directions. He was very different to any other tour guide we had encountered in Thailand.
The hot stream is very crowded and doesn't look as good as this. The 2 km walk to the Emerald Pool was interesting and it was lovely swimming in the pool. (wear your bathers under you clothes). The Tiger Temple was also interesting - walk past the 1227 step climb to the top and go up the next set of steps - 220 steps - apparently good views and things to see. All on our tour missed it as our guide disappeared and his instructions were so poor we all, independently, went to the wrong place. -
