Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakech, Morocco. The mosque is also known by several other names, such as Jami al-Kutubiyah, the Kotoubia Mosque, the Kutubiya Mosque, the Kutubiyyin Mosque and the Booksellers Mosque. The mosque is decorated with curved windows, a strip of ceramic, pointed merlons and decorative arches; it has a large square with gardens, and is lit at night. The minaret, 77 meters (253 feet) high, includes an arrow and orbs.
While its nearby neighbor Bab er-Robb acts as the official entrance to the city, Bab Agnaou functions as the main entrance to the Kasbah which is the site of the El Badi Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the El Mansouria (the kasbah mosque). Bab Aganou is perhaps the most unique of Marrakechs nineteen gates and its original function, as a royal entrance, is perhaps the reason for this. The corner-pieces are decorated with floral decorations extending around a shell is simply exquisite and this ornamentation is framed by three panels and on these panels is an inscription from the Quran.
While many monuments and sites are worthy of note, Marrakech, much like Fez, can boast its Jewish and Islamic pasts that bring flavor and appeal to a co-existent country with its beautiful Jewish Quarter
The palace of Bahia (palace of the beautiful, the brilliant) is a nineteenth-century palace of eight hectares located in Marrakech. It is one of the masterpieces of Moroccan architecture, one of the major monuments of the countrys cultural heritage and one of the main places of tourism in Morocco.

We booked a Medina Guided Tour with Morkosh Tours as we were not sure to know how to navigate through these narrow streets. Our guide Youness came and pick us up from our accommodation Riad, he gave us an overview about the day then we headed to Yves Saint Laurent Garden and Museum. We had skipped the lines cuz of Youness who had a special access to get the entrance tickets without queueing. Next we went on a comfortable van air-conditioned to LA Palmeraie Palm Grove, koutoubia Mosque, Bab Agnaou, Kasbah Neighberhood, Mellah Jewish quarter, Bahia Palace and the huge Souks markets labyrinth where Youness knows every corner and everyone. We had a great experience overall. We highly recommend new comers to book this tour as it's really shows Marrakech Medina in short time 1 full day and we wouldn't do and see al that even in one week though. Thanks a lot to you guys and how see you soon again.

Super knowledgeable. Gave people their undivided attention. Took us through the sukes, market, spice shop, defiantly shared a lot of history and gave us pointers about being a tourist in Merrakesh ( how to cross the street and negotiating in the sukes). It was the best decision I made to book this tour before venturing off on my own with my teenager. It was his first time traveling abroad so our tour made my son feel comfortable.

A must for first time travellers to Marrakech! Our guide Omar provided a comprehensive overview of the city (we only had one day to explore). We visited beautiful gardens, palaces, museums, schools, and of course the souks. Omar customized the tour to our specific interests, and also provided interactions with locals.

Thanks you so much Youness. We booked a full day Marrakech tour with Morkosh Tours, Youness came to our Riad for a pick up. He speaks fluently English, he gave us an introduction about how the day is gonna go. We were treated as VIP's on Mercedes Van. We've visited the Yves Saint Laurent gardent & museum, Marrakech palm grove, Medina old town where there is no navigation sense. Youness knows every corner and has a good enconters allowing us to hang out with locals like when we went to the public oven and dire furnances. Its an unforgettbale experience and must do for the first day in Marrakech. Thanks again and looking forward to Travel again around Morocco.

This is the best walking tour I’ve ever done! Our group travel around the world and opt for free walking tours, this is by far the best we’ve done. Our Tourguide was knowledgeable and honest about life in morocco and didn’t shy away from any questions we had. The tour brought us all around the Medina and through the markets where we got a taster of real life marrakesh! This is a must do in morocco!
