Know More about this tour

Once your bilingual driver has met you in the morning at the hotel or the location you have suggested for pickup, the tour heads north on a customized journey by an air-conditioned car. The first stop takes place at Pueblito paisa (Little Town). A cozy replica of a typical Colombian village sitting right in the middle of the city which allows you to visualize the Medelln valley with amazing 360 views.

Next, the tour goes on to the downtown area to visit the Barefoot Park, park of lights and the infamous Fernando Botero Plaza where 23 amazing statues of the most popular local artist reside. Feel free to make stops along the way to take pictures, grab beverages and/or ask questions to your guide.

Once at Botero Plaza, there is at least 15-minutes to take pictures in the area before heading to the stadium area, Laureles, and the cable car finally in order to give a real perspective on the real Medellin.

Discover the reality and true atmosphere of this so-called rough area. This same area where social, government projects have improved the quality of life by widening walking paths, improving the foundations and appearances of surrounding houses and providing space for residents to be outside, including plastic slides for children to play on and enjoy their community. Walk around this new safe barrio with the assistance of your personal guide/driver, a native professional who knows his way around securely.

Second and best part of the tour involves a vibrant visit to one of the most innovative slums in Medelln where nowadays residents can ride an escalator, in what the citys Major said to be the first massive outdoor public escalator for use by residents of a poor area.

After this fantastic journey you should be already familiar with this innovative city and its authentic neighborhoods as your private driver/guide takes you back to your hotel or any other location.

We had the best guide, Carlos! He was extremely knowledgable and hosted us for a great day of visiting Medellin. We appreciated that he made multiple adjustments during the day to accommodate the interests of our group. And we appreciated his perspective regarding the past, current and future of the city. Perhaps most endearing was the way he encouraged various you g people we met during the day to learn English and to join him in being a tour guide!
