I was really worried about the hike because it has been a year but, my guide assured me that the way is safe and manageable. He greeted me at the lobby and the whole day gave me positive vibes. He taught me about the culture and tradition of Nepal, shared snacks with me and dined with me. I am Sorry I forgot your name but I really, really enjoyed this tour!!!

Watching the sunrise over Himalayas would count as one of the most surreal experiences of my life. Pickup and drop-off (included with this Tour) at the hotel were done in a prompt manner making sure we don’t miss the sunrise. We were the first ones to arrive at the sunrise tower, the views of the Himalayan range from this point are exceptionally spectacular as you are well above the trees. Our tour guide Shekhar is probably the most noble and kind hearted person I have met, he is very courteous, knowledgeable and communicates well (in both English and Hindi). We enjoyed a light breakfast (at our own expense) at the Telkot trailhead, short trek from Telkot to Changunarayan village is a serene walk into the nature. Our tour guide Shekhar made sure that we enjoyed our trekking experience to the fullest. The tour kept on getting better as we arrived at Changunarayan. The 2000 year old Vishnu temple is an important part of Hindu and Nepali heritage, saw some incredible depictions of Vishnuavatars on rock tablets. It was amazing to see indigenous people’s efforts towards restoration of this temple. This tour boded so well and we connected so well with Shekhar that I end up doing a few more private tours with him (Asian Alpine Trek & Tours), highly recommended individual if you are looking for a mountaineer that is friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable Shekhar is your best bet!

It was the first time to Nepal for me and my son who's 10 years old. Our trip couldn't have been more memorable. Our guide for the day trip with Shekar Thapar. We ended up taking him for a second day to visit the cultural sites in Kathmandu City. I highly recommend touring with him. He was very informative and engaged very well with my son who had 10000 questions about Nepal. To sum it up, the day tour was very comprehensive and a good introduction to the diverse heritage Nepal has to offer, leaving you wanting to discover more and learn about their history and tolerant culture. I would highly recommend this tour. The walk proved to be a little challenging for my 10 year old but for anyone relatively in good shape, it's manageable, relaxing and refreshing. There was a small portion where the drive was very bumpy, going through small roads in the villages. Our driver was also excellent. I was very impressed by his driving and cool headedness making it more adventurous yet safe. And so it was a memorable experience which will remain with us filled with only fond memories. Amazing scenery, diverse rich culture, friendly people and informative, knowledgeable professional guide.

Our guide, Shekhar Thapa, picked us up at our hotel promptly at 9:15 AM as promised. The 2 of us were the only people in the tour. He spoke excellent English and was quite knowledgeable about the local culture, religions and history of Nepal. The hike was very pleasant and easy with great views from the mountains into the valleys. Overall we hiked about 5 miles, most of which was downhill. The uphill portions were not difficult. He provided us with a snack of tangerines and bananas midway through the hike and the hike ended with a simple but tasty lunch at a small, local eatery. He delivered us back at our hotel around 5:30 PM. It was a very pleasant way to spend the day. Shekhar was a delight to be with. We highly recommend this guide and tour.

This is such a good walk to do for great payoff photos for very little effort. The walk is all downhill and the views are awesome. Just don't wear your best white shoes as the roads are quite dusty. The 2 guides were so nice, always making sure we were comfortable with the walking pace and they were very knowledgeable about the local culture of houses and people we passed and of the hindu religion at the various temple shrines dotted on the trail. They were funny with a good sense of humour. We could tell they enjoy hosting the tour and are passionate about showing us Nepal. The included lunch was very yummy, but very near the end of the hike almost right at 4pm. Momos, fried rice, paratha and chutney. We also had milk tea at the top of the mountain which was so nice and bananas and oranges halfway through the hike, all provided.

This was a very enjoyable day, with variety of scenery, good views, a view of small village life, and some good exercise. One of the highlights of the tour was our guide, Mr. Shekhar. He spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable (about flora, fauna, Nepali customs, history and culture), trustworthy, friendly, attentive to our needs and wants. He even provided us with a nice snack of peelable fruits (bananas and oranges). We highly recommend this tour.

Shekhar was an excellent guide! Pick-up at our hotel was prompt and preceded by emails. The first stop at the Himalaya viewing station provided awesome views! The hike was long and beautiful, and provided opportunities to see local homes. We ended at the not-to-be-missed temple (and restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious and very late lunch). Be sure to bring plenty of water! And Shekhar was full of interesting information about Nepal. We’ll done!

5+ stars. Great way to get out of Kathmandu and do a scenic walk and lunch. I am 57 male and a bit overweight. Found the hike challenging in a great way. Not all downhill but it was definitely get dropped off near top and walk down. Guide with25+ years experience was excellent. Recommend good walking boots or shoes. Cloudy in September so don’t expect great views of Himalayas but you will be happy to see Kathmandu so well. For pick up, guide, driver, hike, lunch and tour it was a SUPER deal. Highly recommended.

We were picked up by Shekhar in the morning and had a lovely walk around the rim of the Kathmandu Valley, cresting several small hills in sight of the city centre. Escaping the chaos of the city, within an hour we were amidst lush greenery and the great outdoors, and had an excellent 3-4h hike from Nargakot to Changunarayan Temple. The walk is fairly gentle, an individual of average fitness would be able to manage it comfortably. Shekhar is a gentle, humble guide and we had an enjoyable afternoon, would highly recommend it!
