  • Great day out with gorgeous architecture!

  • A great way of seeing the city and its monuments. When we got picked up at the hotel, we should have confirmed the exact details of our day. There was a small mix-up with Tour information, that our guide received from the tour agency My Flight Trip and the information I had on my printout. We sorted that out and proceeded to our first stop a Red Fort. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Next, came a rickshaw ride through the Old Delhi streets! So exhilarating and exciting! Keep your elbows in, your belongings in your lap and your cameras ready to shoot! Amazing! Don't forget to tip the rickshaw guys, they work so hard! Next stop was India Gate and another history lesson. Short drive to the Parliament and off to lunch. Second mix-up! Wrong restaurant: Our lunch at Waves was not impressive as the food was very bland and tasteless and not a buffet! Too bad. We continued to the Lotus Temple. Amazingly beautiful in the blazing sunshine. We finished our Tour at the Humayun Tumb, a true icing on the cake! Indian government and Agha Khan Foundation are working very hard to restore and maintain this amazing group of monuments, which look somehow unkept and in dire needs of restoration. A very informative day, as we learned a lot about history of India and Delhi. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, appropriate for visiting temples. Confirm details of your tour with your guide, before leaving hotel. Our guide was excellent, knowledgeable and interesting. The problem seemed to be with the booking agency's information provided to our guide.
