Know More about this tour

Start the day with a drive through Bo-Kaap to discover how the Malay slaves influenced the culture, food and aesthetics of this beautiful city and its people.
Visit the Company Gardens and enjoy a walk through this inner city oasis to the South African National Gallery. Regular exhibitions enable the museum to have a full programme of temporary exhibitions of paintings, works on paper, photography, sculpture, beadwork, textiles and architecture that provide insight into the extraordinary range of aesthetic production in this country, the African continent and further afield. On the Wale Street end of the garden an architectural structure commissioned by Design Indaba that commemorates the work and life of one of South Africas most celebrated figures, Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Arch for Arch was installed beside historic St. George's Cathedral.
Continue to the Cape Gallery which is set in the heart of the old city off the Church Street walking mall flanked by colourful Georgian and Dutch facades. Here you will find some of the oldest and prestigious galleries, antique shops and auction houses in Cape Town. Central to the tradition of South African painting is the abiding love of the land. Early Cape painters were 'reporters' who described the topography, flora and fauna of this fascinating land, a conservative approach which is still favoured by the gallery's clients today. Recently the emergence of the vibrant street art has added an essentially African character to the work on display.
Visit the Castle of Good Hope which is home to the William Fehr Collection of historical paintings and period furniture which have a special relevance to the Cape. A lunch stop will be made at Truth Coffee Roasting Co. which a steampunk inspired artisan coffee shop serving all hand-roasted coffees in a vintage cast-iron drum.
