Overview

This private tour for couples or small groups takes you to the town of Hermanus..From Stellenbosch we take the beautiful Hell's Hoogte Pass to Franschhoek and thereafter include a town drive.Franschhoek Mountain Pass follows. Viljoens.Pass is next but not before we drive around the enormous Theewaterskloof Dam supplying Cape Town with water.We are now in our apple growing area.As we carry on we need to watch out for our National Bird, the Blue Crane. After driving along little holiday towns we reach Hermanus.We allow enough time for whale watching from the rocks.Lunch time(own account) is allowed whereafter we head for one of the beautiful wine estates for a wine tasting.The road back is along the stunning coastline of False Bay.In the town of Betty's Bay we turn off to the ocean to see the African Penguin in its natural habitat. The scenic drive carries on for 8 further kilometres . Drop off in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek or Paarl is around 18h00.

Departure in Paarl is 08:00, Stellenbosch 08:45 and Franschhoek 09h30. Leaving from Stellenbosch the beautiful Hells'Hoogte Pass awaits us as we find our way to Franschhoek. The Paarl departure takes us along the route allowing us to see the statue of ex president Nelson Mandela in front of the prison from where he was released in February 1990. We conduct a small Franschhoek drive and as we climb the mountain we make a picture stop.As we meander down the pass, we see the hugh theewaterskloof Dam in the distance. The dam supplies Cape Town with water.

We now enter one of our major apple production areas.The beauty does not stop. We approach another spectacular mountain Pass.
As we descend the many wheat and canola fields can be seen in the distance - yellow everywhere when it is in bloom. At this point the road takes us along hundreds of apple orchards which contribute to the beauty of the surroundings. We must now keep our eyes peeled for the Blue Crane, the South African National bird to be found in this area.

After about 30 minutes,we enter the town of Hermanus in Walker Bay. Hermanus is known as our "Whale Capital" After an orientation drive we stop at a popular "whale stop" the popular sight to watch whales from the rocks.Whale watching is from the rocks. Some days we see whales just a few metres from the shore.Time will be aloud to take enough pictures or you can even visit the craft market closeby. Lunchtime follows.(own account)

After lunch we drive to one of the beautiful wine estates in the area to appreciate and sample their excellent wines. This is followed by a drive to the town of Betty's where we stop for tea at Harold Porter Botanical Garden(time permitting). Now we carry on to the coastline to see the African Penguin in it's natural habitat. After allowing time to take enough pictures we carry on via the towns of Pringle Bay and Rooiels and join the Atlantic coastline again. This drive, known as Clarence Drive is along the coastline of False Bay- one of the most spectacular drives in South Africa. On a sunny day we can even spot Cape of Good Hope on the opposite side.

The beautiful town of Gordon's Bay follows. The town forms part of the naval base with Simonstown, across the bay, forming the other part of the base - Boulders beach in Simonstown is also the place where the African Penguins can be viewed. The road now takes us to Somerset West whereafter we enter the Stellenbosch Winelands.and carry on for the town for drop off, should the clients stay in Stellenbosch. Those who stay in Franschhoek will now get the opportunity to do the Hell's Hoogte pass followed by their drop off in the town. Paarl drop off follows next. The drop offs will be around 18h00.
