Elio, our guide, was fantastic! The way he told us about the Mayan Ruins history, the caves and answered our questions about Belize made it evident that he was passionate about history, Belize, and his career. While floating through the caves, Elio told us a Mayan legend, and the passion behind his voice made the cave floating even better.
We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the tour, which made it feel exclusive and gave us the opportunity to go at our own pace.
Can't praise this tour enough, especially for travelers with limited time! Gives you the chance to see Mayan Ruins and explore caves. Thanks, Elio!

The day started out with problems... All the rain cancelled the Cave Tubing, but the Tour Company did us well. They gave us multiple choices. One being Xunantunich only and have the afternoon off. The other... going to Cahal Pech and Mayan Chocolate making. My wide and I wanted a full day adventure and it was. Our tour guide Eliodoro (told us to call him Elio, because that is what his friends call him) made it an incredible day... even with the rain, it did not hold us back. Elio was a wealth of information. I have a Masters in Anthropology and I learned more from him in one day, than in one class... Not only Mayan architecture, but culture, fauna and flora past and present history and Mayan lore... he made sure that in the rain and the limestone structures we were safe in our explorations. He did't just tell us about the individual sites, but how others (Chichen Itza/Tikal) were related and their differences. The three different Mayan architecture styles in each... I can go on and on about the sites and Elio, but if you take this tour, we hope you can get Elio as your Guide. The Mayan chocolate making will get you to look at chocolate in a whole different way. However, we hope to return to Belize and San Ignacio to take the cave tubing tour that we missed thanks to Mother Nature. By the way, the most important thing Elio taught us was how to pronounce Xunantunich... It sounds like Tuna Sandwich :) We would give Elio... 6 stars

My wife and I had an amazing time. Our guide, Elio, was incredibly helpful, informative and very friendly. I couldn't recommend this tour enough. Was our favorite tour on our trip and our guide Elio made it extra special!

We spent a fun, informative and relaxing day with guides Oscar and Carla. The ruins were amazing and the cave tubing was a very special adventure. Our guides took us on a side trip to a sink hole and a smaller cave and it was like a whole other world. I noticed none of the other tour groups were doing this so we really felt like we got the non-rushed, special treatment. Carla cooked us a delicious lunch herself too. It was like spending the day with old friends. Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable and friendly guide! We really enjoyed the Xunantunich tour and historical lesson. Awesome, tasty authentic food for lunch. The cave tubing was slightly less exciting given the water levels were low, but still wonderful views and overall an excellent trip.

This was our first tour in Belize and our guide Elio immediately made us comfortable. Extremely knowledgeable and fun guy for a guaranteed great day. We were the first to arrive at Xunantunich and the place was amazing to experience. The very detailed stories about the history by Elio made everything as good as it could get. Amazing place (and we actually liked it more than Tikal).

When we drove off for the cave tubing, we first enjoyed a lovely meal before entering the water. Perfect temperature for cooling off, very refreshing. In the caves, Elio made us smile multiple times and he knew every inch of the caves. Very peaceful and beautiful place. Highly recommended!

This package is the perfect balance of history and adventure. Elio was amazing! Highly recommend this trip.

Highly recommend St Leonard's for this combo tour. Elio was our guide and did a fantastic job. He shared a lot of history, culture and wildlife with us and was very funny as well! This combo tour is a great idea. After touring Xunantunich in the hot sun the cool water felt amazing. Also with the timing of this combo tour we were able to miss most of the large cruise ship groups. The food served for lunch was also very delicious, I ate way more than I should have!

My husband and I traveled to Belize for our one year anniversary. We wanted beach and jungle. Belize gave us everything we wanted and more. Our day trip to Xunantunich and cave tubing was led by Carla. She and her husband own and operate St Leonard's and her attention to detail is first class. Prior to booking this trip, I researched touring companies in the area and felt that St, Leonard would be the best choice for us. We were staying at a resort that offered tours but we didn't want the resort to dictate our entire experience. We wanted the real Belize.
The tour was wonderfully choreographed, interesting and fun. What I appreciated most was Carla going at our pace, our questions and curiosity helped shape the tour of the ruins and cave tubing.
We then drove to the cave tubing which should have been a long drive but Carla made it go by very quickly with conversation. Cave tubing was incredible and more fun then I could have imagined. I don't swim and Carla made sure I was comfortable and felt safe.
By the way, she is a fantastic cook and the lunch that was prepared was one of the best we had in Belize! Thank you again for an incredible day and memories that we will have always. :

To say that this tour was amazing is an understatement. Everything was perfect. Carla our guide was extremely knowledgeable and it made the experience better to have someone that not only knows their information but also loves to share that information with others. A must when in Belize!!!
