The vegetation then changes to Argan trees that only grow in the wild and which provide berries for local goats to eat. If you wish it is possible to stop for oil tasting in a small cooperative run by local women, where the Argan oil is extracted from the trees, this multi-purpose oil is very famous for its uses in cooking and also in cosmetics.
Nearby you can gaze at a panoramic view of Essaouira, a charming and artistic blue and white town. Once you arrive to Essaouira you can explore its peculiar wonders at your leisure. Stroll along the quays, where you can watch fishermen unloading their catch of the day and fishing boats coming back to shore, or enjoy the many good restaurants at the part and dine on fresh fish and seafood. Essaouira is a picturesque and divers town where you can explore the historic ramparts and visit the Medina full of local artists selling their crafts made of thuya wood. The ramparts will give you an insight in to how this old seaport village was armed against the threat of invasion. Parquetry still remains a traditional speciality of Essaouira, and another beautiful attraction of the region is its tranquil beach, where you could easily spend a relaxing and peaceful afternoon.

We are so happy that we decided to go to Essaouira! The tour was well organised and the walk trough the city with Aziz was just magical. Aziz is a local guide who knows everybody in the town and each sentence he says shows how much he loves the city. He told and showed not only the touristic side but small, unknown corners that usually tourists do not see. Aziz was such a nice companion to our children and we will keep him in our hearts.
- The arghan trees with goats and the beach in the good weather. - Bring swimsuits if you go in summer. - The price for lunch at a restaurant near the beach is reasonable. Food are good
What a fabulous day we had to the quaint fishing village of Essaouira. We stopped at an argan oil coop, saw goats in trees and learned the history of this charming village. Our tour guide Ismail, was loaded with personality and knowledge! He set up the perfect day for us!
We had a wonderful day traveling to Essaouira from Marrakech with Ismail as our driver. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. When we got there a local guide took us on a walking tour. His name was Aziz and he was great. We loved our day in Essaouira.
Very good. Only drawback was sometimes felt pressured to buy things from the locals, who are probably his pals that he’s helping out. Apart from that, great experience.
From Ismail's greeting at the riad, until we said goodbye at the end of the day, the tour was spectacular. This company makes sure you feel comfortable in a cozy Mercedes with bottled water for your journey in paradise. Ismail is a very easy going, kind, and very knowledgeable guide, and it was such a pleasure learning about the cities and countryside from him. Once in Essaoira, we met Aziz, a passionate man that takes great pride in showing us his gorgeous city. He walked us around all of the places where no guides take tourists, and it was glorious seeing some of the oldest parts of the city. Because Essaouira is his home. He allows us time to take it slow and really feel at peace taking in the pace and energy of this beautiful city. Thank you to both Ismail and Arizona for such a perfect day, one that I will recall fondly for the rest of my life.
This was an exceptional private tour! Our driver, Ismail, came promptly at the agreed time to pick us up from our hotel, then drove us to Essaouira in an A/C car; bottled water is available for the entire duration of the tour. He provided informative comments about the places along the way and the country's history and present times; not too much, not too little, just enough for us to understand and remember. Our tour guide, Aziz, waited promptly for us when we arrived in Essaouira and walked at a relaxed pace through this beautiful maritime city. Aziz is a native of the town and loves it deeply; this is evident in the way he talks about Essaouira, its history, and its people; he was one of the best guides we have had. The route was thoughtfully planned to offer a comprehensive picture of the past and present, and we immediately went in at each of the attractions the moment we arrived there. Also, he showed us the best places to take pictures and took pictures of us when asked. Enough time is allowed at each site; nothing is rushed. Also, the route is customizable in terms of the time spent at each attraction and what attractions you wish to include/exclude. We are very interested in local crafts. He took us to some exquisite traditional thuya and pottery workshops where we were offered detailed explanations about the craft and demonstrations of how things are done. The tour included a stop for the traditional Moroccan mint tea (with fresh mint from the local market) in a local place and a delicious Moroccan lunch (you can choose differently if you wish) at a restaurant with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. At the end of our tour, Ismail waited for us to drive us back to Marrakech. Both Aziz and Ismail went beyond the call of duty to ensure that we had a memorable experience of the beautiful seaside town of Essaouira. Highly recommended tour!!!
Just got back from Marrakech and had an amazing time. We were met by Abdul at our Riad in Marrakech at 8am to begin our tour in Essaouira. We were driven in a comfortable toyota hilux vehicle. Abdul was wearing a face mask throughout the journey to/from essaourica, he also gave us a couple of face masks just incase we needed them. He also carry a small hand sanitiser with him all the time just incase we needed some. Half way through the journey we stopped off on the road side to take pictures of the goats on the argan tree. This is so interesting and fascinating! Definitely one of the highlight! After 2 hours 30 mins drive, we arrived in Essaouira and met by a lovely local guide called AZIZ who lives in Essaouira for many many years. This is where we begin our walking tour in Essaouira. It is a very small city and the temperature is definitely cooler than medina. Aziz walked us around the local markets, took us to all the must see sites and also places where they filmed game of thrones. It is a slow walking tour so this trip is perfect for everyone. After Aziz shown us all the sites, he then leave us with some free time to walk around ourselves or have lunch at one of the restaurant. He also shown us the collection point where Abdul our driver will collect us at 4pm. Overall, we are very happy that we booked this tour because both Abdul and Aziz are fantastic and provide excellent service! Please remember to bring comfy walking shoes, windbreaker jacket or a jumper!
This full day tour to Essaouira was great! It included a walking tour and free time, as well as a visit to the goats in the Argan trees. After the free time, I was interested in riding a horse, so I was brought to a ranch and did a one hour horse ride. This was a great experience and the horses were well cared for. Essaouira was my favorite day trip during my time in Morocco. It was cool, breezy, and colorful. It was nice to just stroll along the ocean and enjoy the view.
I had an amazing day at Essaouira even with all of the covid protocols in place! I was glad that Morocco Inspiring Tours were able to accommodate my last minute booking. Thanks to Ismail for a great ride. The ride out from Marrakech seemed like minutes with him. Wish I could have stayed longer in this great town!
