Know More about this tour

Hop aboard your coach at your central Belfast hotel, and travel along the scenic Causeway Coastal Route. As you travel north, your guide will talk to you about the popular Game of Thrones TV series, adapted from George Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

Stop in the town of Cushendun and walk to the caves where Melisandre of Asshai gave birth to her ‘shadow baby’ who went on to slay Renly Baratheon. Hear tales of the power struggles, battles and trysts between the noble families of Westeros, and learn all about the exploits of King Joffrey Baratheon.

Travel by coach to Ballycastle to see where Varys was born as a slave in the Free Cities, and after stretching your legs on a stroll, travel to the Dark Hedges road. With its natural archway of intertwined trees, the road is one of Northern Ireland’s most photographed locations and the place where Arya Stark dressed as a boy to escape from King’s Landing. Pose for pictures, and then continue your journey north.

The next destination is larrybane Quarry right next to the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge – an iconic crossing that connects the mainland to Carrick-a-Rede Island. While not used in Game of Thrones, the bridge is framed by magnificent headland that provided a backdrop for several scenes. After a quick photo stop, continue to the fishing village of Ballintoy for lunch (own expense), and then travel to the UNESCO-listed Giant’s Causeway,

While the location hasn’t been used in Game of Thrones, the site is the Causeway Coast’s showpiece, and it’s well worth visiting while in the area. Walk around admiring the hexagonal rock columns and gaze out at the crashing waves along the dramatic coastline.

Board your coach and travel back to Belfast, your tour then finishes in the early evening in the center of Belfast.

  • Booking this tour was key to our reason to coming to Belfast, the whole visit was really a birthday present so we had high expectations for this day - we weren't disappointed.
The coach, setting off from Belfast centre was comfortable and our driver Derrick eased us into the day with the introductions.
Once away from the city centre and as we all started to be a bit more awake Derricks banter started to get into flow and he became more than just a guide but a full on entertainer.
Ahead of each location we would be given the background to its use within the GoT programme, or other such information on the non-GoT locations.
On the journeys between each location Derrick kept us entertained, I dont know how we managed it all day.
It was great to see all different locations. We got lucky with the weather, with only one brief gusty shower, so got some great photos.
The stop off pub lunch was also great well organised in taking the orders to serving the food and had its own GoT tie-ins.
Overall a great day tour with a great entertaining driver!

  • The Giant's Causeway was everything I had heard about. Very spectacular. The Game of Thrones was not what I expected. The scenery on the coast was fantastic, but all we saw was the scenery and oh by the way the Game of Thrones was filmed here. I wouldn't make it a two pronged tour 50 - 50, make it 75 - 25, with the Causeway the major attraction.

  • You don't even have to be a Game of Thrones enthusiast, the coastline is so breathtaking and dramatic you will get lost in the grandeur! We saw the most amazing scenery I have ever seen in my life. Our driver Derrick was wonderfully fun, informative and knew all the best ways around other tourist groups. We walked the caves and coastline from GOT episodes and even saw snippets of episodes where the background scenery was right where we were! Fantastic! I could not recommend it more. Go! Enjoy! You will not regret a moment. I know it was the best day we had while in Northern Ireland and that is saying a lot!

  • This was a great way to see the Giant's Causeway, the Rope Bridge and some of the GOT filming locations. The bus was comfortable, the tour guide/bus driver informative and humorous and the scenery outstanding. The driver smartly the Dark Hedges visit until the very end of the trip which meant there weren't other cars and buses on the road leaving us a clear photo shot of the hedges. However, if you are at all nervous about driving or being driven on narrow, windy roads, this is NOT the tour for you. Also, there is a ton of walking involved with this tour and not just on level ground. There are several times where it is up and done steep paths and you have to be prepared both physically and shoe-wise for it. Of course, these treks are all optional but you'd miss out on some wonderful scenery if you didn't go. Lunch was delicious but late, 3-3:30 pm so when the driver suggests getting a snack at the first stop, be sure to do so. Overall it was a really fun day.

  • This was a really fun trip, so many beautiful spots to see, it was well worth the money!

  • Excellent tour! Our tour guide Derek was amazing, very funny and knew his stuff! Would highly recommend.

  • Such a beautiful trip. I do not like game of thrones I know...right?, but my family and friends do so I went. I would recommend this tour to anyone whether you like the show or not.

  • Very good experience with the driver.

  • The bus was 45 minutes late picking up. Derrick was a good driver and very knowledgeable about GOT. However I feel the trip was very rushed. Get off, hike to a spot, see it for a minute and turn around to get back to the bus. I loved seeing the sights, but could have given up one in order to take some time. Northern Ireland is beautiful and well worth seeing at your own pace.
