Know More about this tour

This New York Garment Center Shopping Tour is a must for shoppers who want to experience one of New York's last wholesale districts at work. You'll visit the buildings of world-famous designers, whose work impacts fashion the world over. Add a visit to the world's most famous trim store, with your expert guide to lead the way, and this is the perfect morning tour for fashionistas, "better clothing" bargain hunters, and the fashion curious.

The best kept secret deals on fashion await with privileged access to six wholesale showrooms--not open to the general public--and hidden sample sales for the latest trends. No last season leftovers, snag deals on women’s designer and “better wear” fashions anywhere from 50-80% below retail. You might even catch a designer at work in their inner sanctum.

Amid all the designer deals and bargains, your shopping expert will share the history of the area, point out key landmarks in the area such as M and J Trimmings, one of the world's most famous trim stores, featured in the New York Times and Martha Stewart Living Magazine and tell you where to find Mood Fabrics, best known for being "the" place to buy fabric on the hot reality show Project Runway.

Don't let the bargain-hunting end with the tour. You'll receive a list of other notable sales of the day for an independent shopping experience. You're an industry insider now!

Small-group tour is limited to 12 persons for a more personalized experience. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Only worth doing if you have plenty of spare cash!! Got to see designers in their studios and parts of New York you wouldn't normally see but the samples were more expensive than we thought and only took cash! We wanted some history - maybe a different tour?

  • THIS WAS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED AND MORE !! LOVE AND RECOMMEND THIS ONE TO THE FASHION CONCIOUS
AND TO BUY DESIGNERS AT OUTLET PRICE

  • I loved the tour. The description should include the fact that some of the showrooms required cash and did not take credit cards. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We did encounter one showroom where the staff was rude and unorganized but the company gave us a list of other sample sales to do. Nice

  • Keve was wonderful! She had so much information to share. We learned so much about shopping in New York. Some day in the future, My granddaughter and I would love to take your SoHo tour and can only hope Keve will be our guide..
    Thanks,
    M and A

  • This was so much fun!! I was with my granddaughter and we had a blast!!

  • My mom and I took this tour a week ago and were very lucky to have a wonderful guide- Lisa Marie. She was extremely informative, patient, and a lot of fun. One thing I would recommend for the tour is to not feel pressured to buy the items offered at each location. Also, at one of the designer stops we went to, we were early for our appointment and the designer was very rude and made us feel rushed and guilty because she said another group was going to come in soon. Also, maybe have the tour include more history of the Garment District rather than it feeling like just a shopping tour.

  • This tour was very enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone who likes to shop for clothing. While I only bought a sweater one of the 4 ladies on the tour was a cute little blonde who looked good in everything. So it was fun judging what she tried on.

  • I enjoyed the tour and the good buys on purses and scarves. Clothing was interesting but not in my size I knew that going in. I just enjoyed getting a sense of the types of businesses in the garment district.

  • Tour was fun, informative, and added to my and my grandaughters closets. Keve was great guide on tour and as native New Yorker knowledgeable about the city. Highlight was meeting designer Elizabeth Gilette who graciously shared her love of fabric and beautifully designed scarves.

  • Our tour guide, Sarah Jacobs, was Perfect, engaging and extremely knowledgable! She made the tour enjoyable.
