Stop At: Porta Messina, Taormina, Province of Messina, Sicily
During "The Godfather" tour, you will walk along the authentic picturesque streets of Savoca and Forza d'Agro remained unchanged since the movie was made, visit ancient churches, famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia's father her hand in marriage, church where they married, and other movie locations.
Optionally, you may taste perfect Sicilian wines and locally produced food sitting on a terrace with a panoramic view of the Ionian coast and surrounding countryside at one of the best wine bars in Savoca, and have traditional fish dinner at a fine fish restaurant in Forza d'Agro.
First stop is Savoca, an unspoilt medieval town that near Taormina that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the "going to the mattresses" time. Here you will visit Bar Vitelli that looks exactly the way it did in the movie, and see the exact spot where Al Pacino informed Apollonia's father that his name was Michael Corleone, and that "there are people who'd pay a lot of money for that information, but then your daughter would lose a father instead of gaining a husband". Here you can take pictures with an authentic Sicilian shotgun "Lupara", see pictures from the movie and a mirror monument for Coppola, enjoy panoramic view of the Mediterranean opening from the square where the wedding ceremony scene was shot, purchase The Godfather souvenirs, and - "leave the gun, take the cannoli" - taste original Sicilian cannoli and lemon granita at Bar Vitelli.
Then you will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Then follow the same path down the hill that the newlyweds did, and visit another old church dating back to the 13th century. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, on a good day you can also meet some actors - for example a lady who played Apollonia's mother and who still lives in Savoca.
Later, optionally you can visit Enoteca near Santa Lucia church, and on a terrace with romantic sea view taste Sicilian red and white wines paired with traditional food (locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, caponata, home-made jelly, olives, extra virgin olive oil and fresh home-made bread).
The tour will continue in Forza d'Agro, another stunning hilltop town with a "Godfather" connection. You will walk the abandoned streets ("Where have all men gone?" - "They're dead from vendettas"), explore the historic square and see the pictures from the movie, visit ancient churches, see the piazza where young Vito Andolini (later Vito Corleone) escaped Don Ciccio's men by hiding in a basket on a donkey's back, walk up to see the remains of a 12th century Norman castle, admire delightful panoramic view of the Ionian coastline, and get a flavor of the Sicilian pastoral lifestyle remained unchanged since ancient times.
Then, you can optionally have lunch or dinner at one of the best fish restaurants in Sicily and taste many kinds of traditional fish dishes with Sicilian red and white wines.

If you've ever watched the Godfather trilogy..... PLEASE take this private tour!! The facts you learn about the movie and its actors are fascinating. Savoca and Forza D'Agro in Taormina, Sicily are incredibly beautiful. Breathtaking, in fact! Visiting the site of the church on the hill where Michael & Appolonia married was incredibly special for me and my partner for many many reasons. Too many to list and I really don't want to spoil your experience by taking away the magic ! Visiting the Bar Vitelli in the movie was also magical ! And the restaurant experience we had for lunch served wonderful food and the setting was incredible. But, I must give a multitude of credit to our fantastic Guide, Marco. I really cannot imagine a more knowledgeable, courteous, thorough Guide who paid attention to every detail ! Marco had such a passion for his job and this most beautiful area of Sicily. I truly don't think we would've had near the experience we did had it not been for him.

Being a huge Godfather fan, it was so neat to see where and how they actually filmed. We always thought everything revolved around Corleone. Even if you aren't a Godfather fan, the tour still takes you to some beautiful locations and scenery and the best part is you don't have to try driving on those crazy mountainous roads. We saw some of the most scenic locations of our entire weeklong trip to Sicily on this tour. Our guide Marco picked us up directly from our hotel in Taormina. He's very personal and knowledgeable about the movie and the area. He shows you scenes from the movie you would never be able to figure out otherwise. We finished the day off having lunch at a nice little local Trattoria with Wine and of course an amazing view. Great tour and a great day with Marco!

Our tour guide Marco was great and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour. Yes it’s “Godfather” but more than that it is a great opportunity to get out to two small villages and really see a different and less touristy part of Sicily.

marco was an incredible, kind, knowledgable, and wonderful guide. we left feeling like we learned so much about the beautiful culture, history, and landscape of sicily. we loved his commentary and film analysis. 10/10, everyone should take this tour, regardless of if you've seen the film.

What a great private tour in some of the best countryside and small towns that Sicily has to offer! Being such keen Godfather enthusiasts, my wife and I were desperate to have a Godfather Tour in Sicily to see some of the filming locations and we weren't disappointed! The Tour was brilliant, we were taken to the lovely towns of Savoca and Forza d'Agrò, just outside of Taormina. We were taken to the lovely churches where Michael and Apollonia were married as well as Michael and Kay. Also got to see the precise location where young Vito was smuggled to safety on the donkey in front of the church. The highlight was enjoying a beer and devouring a cannoli in front of the infamous Bar Vitelli in Savoca and being able to feel embrace the; "leave the gun, take the cannoli' saying haha. Even got interviewed by a local TV reporter talking about tourism in the area! The finishing touch to the tour was having a lovely local lunch complete with wine at a local family restaurant. Couldnt have asked for a better tour!

Our Godfather tour with Marco was amazing. Marco was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Godfather movie scenes and towns where it was filmed. You can tell he loves his job. At times my husband had a hard time walking. Marco was understanding, patient and kind. He always figured out a way to make it work. The scenery and views were breathtaking and Marco took the greatest pictures of us with the scenery. Thank you Marco. Also, Nadia was so very kind and helpful with our booking. We highly recommend Prestelli Tours and wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.

Our guide Marco was a pleasure to be with on our Godfather tour. We found him to be very informative, friendly and attentive. He enhanced our trip by sharing stories and assisting us with taking pictures which helped make our trip more memorable. We had a wonderful excursion thanks to Marco and would highly recommend taking a tour with him!

We were two couples with the hubbies huge Godfather fans. We were picked up by Marco. He was great, informative, enthusiastic and patient with our many stops. This day was a highlight of our trip. In fact, we have watched The Godfather since our return. We loved seeing all the places Marco took us. This tour is fun and a must. It is not cheesy.

Had this holiday planned for 2 years and was really looking forward to this tour and we were not disappointed. Marco our guide picked us up very promptly and he was an excellent guide. Gave a good commentry of the country and cultures as we travelled. Explained the filming locations and scenes. Marco took time to show us other areas of the 2 towns and the scenery was stunning. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing time re-experiencing scenes from The Godfather movies. It almost felt like we were in the scenes themselves. Our tour guide, Sergio was amazing and very knowledgeable about where each scene was shot here. Even if you’re not a fan of the movies, the mountain side and ocean views alone will take your breath away. Make sure that you set up your ride to and from the airport/train station before hand. The train station is close enough for the tour guide to pick you up.
